“Outstanding service and location”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

We stayed at the Amira for four nights with our three children and were extremely impressed with the hotel and the staff. Upon arrival the receptionist invited us for drinks while she went over in detail what we shouldn't miss in Istanbul and gave us all of her restaurant recommendations. She also arranged a Bosphorus boat trip for us. During our four nights at the hotel, the staff was able to help us out with all of our requests. We stayed on the first floor in two rooms connected by a small hall with a locking door. The rooms were extremely comfortable and perfect for a family of five. Breakfasts were good, but we especially enjoyed the complementary afternoon tea on the rooftop terrace. The location of the hotel is excellent - just a couple of minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and a few more minutes to Hagia Sophia. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was wonderful from start to finish. Warm, informative welcome from staff. Very close to the tram and main historical sites. Great rooftop terrace. Complimentary breakfast and tea time were also great. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time at this beautiful boutique hotel. Conveniently placed in Sultanahmet, being walking distance to the old city, and restaurants around. Room was fantastic, staff even more fantastic. Made the trip to my new favorite city, Istanbul, a very enjoyable and memorable one.

I stayed at the hotel in the last week of March 2013 with my family. It was a great experience to stay at Hotel Amira, staff was courteous and very helpful. We booked deluxe family room which was spacious, comfortable and very clean as was shown in the pictures on the net. Breakfast was also good and bonus was the evening tea offered from 4 to 6 pm.

The room service was very good and staff in general were very responsive. For families with children, the location is central and one can easily walk to all historical place in 10 to 15 minutes (e.g. Topkapi museum, Hagia Sofia and blue mosque). The tram is also at approx. ten minutes’ walk. Staff specially AJ and Burak (Sim and Simi as well) guided us very well to visit various sites. Thanks very much for the wonderful stay and will come back again. Strongly recommend the hotel to all. Bottom line: great value for money.
Thanks. Ali and family

Fantastic location, walking distance to every special sightseeing in Sulthanamet. Many stores, cafes and restaurants nearby. Lively but not noisy district. The room was not very big but super clean and bright, a little noisy though (isolation is not the best one). Great service with a very professional staff. We were greeted by Aziz, the best welcomer in the world : very helpful, smiling and always in a good mood for more than a week : magic. We will never forget him and his kind colleagues. Special thanks to the manager Arthur who does a great job. The roof terrace is really agreable. Good breakfast with all you need. Friendly tea time with lukums... If you want to avoid mass tourism and a cosy place to stay, that's a good pick for sure ! We loved it.

We thoroughly agree with all the positive reviews on this hotel. The staff especially Tina and AJ were great. Such a nice touch to get advice on arrival and a welcome drink at the roof top area. Nothing was too much trouble and although we have stayed in nicer rooms this one was spacious and had a unique feel for the area. The old town is very hectic and busy and the hotel was an oasis. I would definitely recommend the hotel if you choose the old town area for your stay.

WELCOME/HAPPY HOUR: The welcome was most warming. They take you to the breakfast room for a welcome drink and snacks. This service is also available each evening before dinner and really anytime you drop in. Very cozy and makes you feel at home.

LOCATION: Could not be better. Walking distance to most sights in Old Town: Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, Cistern. Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar are a little further away, but walkable as well.

STAFF: Every single staff member was knowledgeable, proactive, hospitable, and smiling. At the end of our stay, the lady in the breakfast room just had to give our oldest daughter a hug goodbye. Almost makes you feel like family.

ROOM: Wonderful hardwood floors. The room was just the right size even with an extra bed and toddler bed in place. There was essentially no street noise. The beds were quite comfortable and gave a great nights sleep.

WIFI: The wifi signal was a little spotty depending on where you were in the hotel. When the signal was good, the speed was good. As a side note, they have a nice iMac in the breakfast room for anyone to use. Very nice.
