Stayed at the Hotel Amira for 2 days on a short stay in Istanbul. It was a great location from which to explore the Sultanahmet area. We walked just a few blocks to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and other attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful and provided great service. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and tea/coffee time in the afternoon. An excellent price for a clean, comfortable, convenient place to stay.

Stayed at Hotel Amira for a week and now I know why so many, over a thousand reviewers took the time to give a review and put them at the top. They deserve it. Yes the service was great, but they pay attention to the little things that make the stay so nice. Of course the beds are comfortable, slippers and robes, mini bar with real prices (not that I used it...), complimentary large bottle of water every day, smart snake reading and night lights, great shower heads (indeed two of them, one for a rainshower), even a nice hot water percolator; free internet, nice breakfast in a very pleasant dining room with modern but relaxing music, free afternoon tea, roof terrace with a wonderful view of the sea, nice little gym and private spa area for reservation (though the Turkish bath hamams are probably as good or a better deal). The staff are all truly pleasant and helpful. I think some of the rooms may be small (our room was just right though), so perhaps not best for large families. But otherwise, truly a best value and wonderful stay. Also, the taxi stand is literally right outside the hotel, and there's a convenience store diagonally across the street. It's about a 5-10 minute nice walk to the tram (warning about the clickety clack of your luggage across all the cobble stone if you take the train and tram from the airport to then walk to the hotel; and as an aside, DEFinitely transfer at Zeytinburnu and Not at Arksaray, unless you want to find out the hard way why that is so...). Enjoy your stay!

Just back from a 36 hour blitz trip to amazing Istanbul. Although we didn't spend much time in the hotel, the service that we received when we were there was great. Deluxe room: spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The staff: super friendly, helpful, and always cheerful. Location: a short walk to major sights in the old city (although not very lively at night, but this could be due to the fact that it's off season). Highly recommended, overall.

We stayed here for 4 nights - by far the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff we have ever experienced. The recruitment person at this hotel is a genius. Every person, from the reception staff, the restaurant staff, the concierge who has to stand at the door and freeze in ice cold winter, is the most polite and friendly person ever! We booked a family room, it was on the level above reception and had a main door that then opened to two bedroom doors that were interleaving. This is exactly what I expected. The rooms are VERY spacious for European hotel rooms, by far the biggest we have encountered in numerous countries we have visited. Everything about this hotel is fantastic. The terrace on the roof must be spectacular in summer - but we were there in freezing snowy winter - but the view from there with all the snow was still just great! and a free afternoon tea service of very delicious sweet and savoury items was very welcome. And did i say my super fussy daughter even loved the breakfasts - which were sumptuous and delicious! There are just two minor things to mention - the key to the 2nd room just would not work. We left that door open as we could lock the front door. Having had snow which was melting, we had a dripping sound on our ceiling for one of the 4 nights, which was explained as the balcony/terrace up above dripping. Annoying but not seriously so. Well done Hotel Amira

Everything was perfect - room, staff, food, location. Traveled solo on business so spent most evenings at the hotel, getting to know staff members. Aziz, AJ, Joseph were just wonderful and always so helpful. AJ taught me how to get around Istanbul and booked tours for me very last minute and Aziz and Joseph served wonderful meals! Loved my room - very large, beautiful, and clean. Loved the restaurant/lounge area with wifi. If traveling to Istanbul and want to stay in the Old City, stay here! Also so reasonably priced - felt like a steal!
