“Excellent hotel, great location for seeing the tourist sights”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

We stayed in a suite room 801, after a very kind upgrade, which was wonderful! The room was very spacious and very clean. Breakfast was excellent I don't think there could have been much more choice given its a buffet style breakfast (although you can also order). The staff were very helpful and friendly and we would very much recommend this hotel to others. It was our first visit to Istanbul and we found this an excellent location, very accessible to the Blue Mosque and the other tourist attractions. The roof terrace has a wonderful view and very good service. A few recommendations:- for somewhere cheap to eat try Doy Doy (note they don't serve alcohol) the food is excellent, great value and the roof terrace has a view over the Blue Mosque. Also would recommend getting the tram around the city to make the most of your visit, you just buy a token from the machines for 2 lira for any length of ride. Also would recommend you do the Bosphorous trip on the IDO ferry it is 1.5 hrs each way - with a reliable timetable so you can stop and eat on the Asian side and come back - very well worth it - and cost only 25 Lira for a return trip. Get to the port earlyish to get a good seat.

Room Tip: Suites are 801 and 701, 801 is the highest although we think 701 has its own patio. Worth a check...

Perfect location within walking distance of major attractions. Rooms were absolutely charming. Best of all was the staff. We were greeted upon arrival and taken up to the rooftop terrace for a complimentary beverage and Arthur took the time to walk us through the map of attractions and other recommendations. Aziz and the rest of the staff were so attentive and kind. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: Our group had 3 different rooms and they were all good.

Excellent location, about 1-2 blocks from Hippodrome, Blue Mosque. Another block to Tram, Aya Sofia etc. Plenty of shops, cafes in easy walking distance. There is an abundance of small hotels in the vacinity, Amira looked as if it was one of the newer ones. Staff was very helpful with usual hotel stuff like arranging tours, airport transfers, etc. and desk is open 24 hrs. Rooms were clean (except I agree with another review that bathtubs/showers could use a little attention). Terrace is nicely furnished and has view of Sea of Mamara and back of Hippodrome, but you will not see great view of major sights. Buffet breakfast was typical fruits, cheeses, olives, yogurt etc. Well done, overall. Omelets available on request for additional charge.

Room Tip: In Amira Suite there was some noise from music on terrace in the evenings. Even though it is next t...

Very comfortable! Great location! Lovely tea. Good breakfast! We have really enjoyed being here and would like to stay here again. The staff is amazing. With our window or door to outside closed we didn't have any noise from the street

That was my first visit to Istambul. I taveled with my 12-year old son and our major goal was a sightseeing. I was looking for the hotel with a convenient location and in a safe area.
Amira met my expectations completely, and even more! First, the location was excellent: we practically didn't have to use any means of public transportation and visited all major attractions, plus felt really safe morning, day or night. Second, rooms were clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfasts were fresh and tasty. International airport is 20 min. away, practically a straight lane trip. The staff is their biggest asset though: everyone is ready to help and make you feel treasured 24 hours a day. I have already recommended Amira to one of my friends and shared their card. We sincerely thank everyone in Amira and hope to be back one day. Elena from NJ

We just arrived in Istanbul today, but I'm already amazed at the city and this great hotel. It is in a fantastic location, very clean, modern and -- the best part -- is definitely the service. They go way above and beyond. We are all very pleased.

Excellent location in Sultanahmet for easy access to all the major sites. Close to the Blue Mosque (be prepared for the 5am call!) The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast more than adequate to set you up for a day's sightseeing. With all the choice available it's satisfying when you get it right and this one certainly didn't disappoint. A great little find.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a shower cubicle only, others have bath and shower above. Our room had an additiona...
