We had a wonderful tour with Mrs. Ebru! She was so knowledgable and interesting, combining her fine education, humor and passion for Istanbul. The tour can be tailor made as you go along. Let her lead you to the many sites...also note that she can guide you in your shopping choices if you wish to do that along with the historical aspects of the city. While you cannot help but be awed by the Blue Mosque, etc., one of my favorite stops was the mosaic museum. Mrs. Ebru's education made the history of the mosaics come alive. This is a fine tour operation and is highly recommended. Very professional and easy to book. Also note that if you are accompanied by Mrs. Ebru, a professional guide, you can go to the head of the line in many cases. And those lines can be very long if you attend on your own.

We were on a mediterranean cruise with a stop in Istanbul -- a city that we had never been to. We had our two teenagers with us (son 15, daughter 14) and thought that they would get more out of it if we were a smaller group and not part of a huge tour. After reading Trip Advisor, we decided on Daily Istanbul Tours and arranged a 1 1/2 day tour including a cruise along the Bosphurus. . I connected with Sonor the, owner, via email. It sometimes took a few days before he got back to me (in contrast to other private tour operators that we used) but we were eventually able to work out the details.

Our guide, Hassan, met us at the port with a driver. We started our tour at the Blue Mosque and then visited Topkapi Palace and St. Sophias. Hassan is an academically trained tour guide and was therefore incredibly knowledgable. There was no question that he could not answer .He was patient and charming. He took us to a ceramic plate shop for a demonstration and then to lunch at a traditional turkish restaurant (since 1957) called The Pudding Shop. The food was cafeteria style in that you lined up at the counter to choose your lunch and it was then brought to the table for you on cafeteria type trays. Lunch included chicken or meatballs, rice, bread, green beans (or other veggeis) , fries, fruit and dessert - creme caramel, chocolate pudding. It was very quick AND air conditioned which was key since it was probably close to 40 degrees outside!

We were then taken to a turkish carpet company and tutored in the different types of turkish carpets including a demonstration on how they are made. Our two teens found this very interesting - much to our surprise. We ended up purchasing two carpets. They have arrived home already exactly as promised and look amazing!

Following the carpet demonstration, we went to the Grand Bazaar. Hassan gave us a few tips on bartering and some suggestions on what to look for and where.

The next day we started our day with a tour of the Spice Market. This was the highpoint for me. We told Hassan that we were interested in trying some Turkish Delight. He took us to his preferred stall - apparently, they made it the traditional way - with honey rather than sugar or sweetener. It was a beautifully displayed shop and the turkish Delight was outstanding. They airpacked some Turkish Delight, some teas and some spices for us to take back home with us.

We finished with a 90 minute tour of the Bosphurus to see the castles and homes of the Turklsh elite. It was a very pleasant cruise.

We were in Turkey during Ramadan and so Hassan did not eat or drink (even water) from sunrise to sunset. The temperature was 36+ degrees for the 1 1/2 days that we were there. We were absolutely amazed at how he managed to keep his good humour and charm throughout the two days. We would we recommend Daily Istanbul Tours. We will be back!

We booked a private tour through this company in October 2012, unfortunately we were unable to participate since we were not on the cruise at the previously booked date. We had to cancel our cruise.
I will still comment on the booking process, they were very helpful and quick in all communication, they always answered quickly and gave all the information required. I would have loved to actually take the tour but will use them when in Istanbul

Recently returned from a Med cruise with a port stop in Istanbul. Wanted to see as much as possible and not be on a bus with 40 people. Looked at private tours and Daily Istanbul Tours caught my eye. The itinerary was wonderful...Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market. There was a 8 person maximum on the tour and 80E p/p included guide, entrance fees, lunch and transportation. I e-mailed Soner a few times with questions and he always quickly responded.
We were met at the dock by Soner, who's a fantastic guide...a true professional. He speaks excellent English and is extremely knowledgeable and informative about Istanbul and Turkey. His pride in his city is obvious. His insight and personal qualities made for a special tour. We didn't have to wait in any long lines and when another couple in the group wondered about visiting the Underground Cistern, Soner was only too happy to take us there. Lunch was included in our price and we were taken to the Pudding Shop Lale Restaurant. Lunch was very good, not the typical set meal one usually gets when a meal is included in a tour. You get to choose a meat, vegetable, side and dessert. In each of these categories, there are at least 3 choices. Our plates were full and it was an excellent introduction to delicious Turkish cuisine.
Soner also gave us tips on how to barter before taking us to the Grand Bazaar. After his advice, I had great fun bartering for souvenirs. He was concerned that we got value for our money and readily offered his assistance with negotiations.
Istanbul and Soner's tour was the highlight of the cruise.I hope that I'll be able to return to spend more time in Istanbul and see other places in Turkey. If I'm lucky enough to be able to do this, the first thing I'll do is contact Soner and plan tours with him. I can't say enough good things about Soner and Daily Istanbul Tours. Thanks Soner for a fantastic day in Istanbul.

We were met by Ebru with Daily Istanbul Tours the morning our ship arrived in port and this was the beginning of a fantastic day. The driver would drop the 3 of us off at the historic sites and would arrive shortly after Ebru would call him to take us to the next attraction. Ebru really knew her city and took us to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, lunch at a local place near the Grand Bazaar before entering that ancient "shopping center". Finished the day up at the spice market and Topkapi Palace. All our luggage was safely kept in the van with the driver for Daily Istanbul Tours and at the end we were taken to our hotel. This tour was recommended by friends who had taken it a year before and everything was so easy to arrange with Soner by email. Cummins and Anderson Sherrill North Carolina
