“Something different”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Try to sit on Europe side of boat as that has the more impressive sites. Last stop takes about 10 min to walk around & you are stuck there for 3 hours before the return leg. My suggestion - get off at one of the earlier stops & wait for ferry to come back.

“A relaxing afternoon!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

for those who love taking pictures: if you decide to sail the Bosphorus Strait in the afternoon, take a seat on the left so you can take pictures of the European side of Istanbul with the sun shining on the hill while you are sailing to the Black sea; do the same when you go back, so you can take pictures at the sunset of the Asian side!
Regarding the cruise: please don't use an organized tour for this "attraction" you really don't need to be escorted! You can easily purchase audioguide of you want to learn more about the history and the places you are about to see. It costs 5 TL. And the cruise costs only 25 TL round trip! There are many stops and you can choose to get off where you want!
I got off the boat at Anadolu Kavagi where there's little castle up the hill. The castle is closed but the view of the Black Sea from there is stunning. It only takes 20 minutes to go up there!

“Beautiful Bosphorus”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Taking a Bosphorus river cruise is a great way to see Istanbul, it's historical monuments from a distance, and the beauty of the city. We took our 9 year old twins and they also enjoyed spotting dolphin, fish, jelly fish, as well as cargo ships and a cigarette boat! A very nice and relaxing way to explore Itanbul!

“Sail through history”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Use the public ferries...cheaper and more accessible than tour ferries. They will get you anywhere on the Bosphorous and to the Asia side of Istanbul.
