This hotel is located in old Istanbual and it's good place to stay in to discover the old city. Don't expect to see malls or modern places there. As we arrived we felt that we are at home the staff was very helpfull explaining to us the locations, surroundings and the tourist programs they have. The room was clean and the furniture was like new. The windows are sound proofed but you might hear ocasional noise ususally not at sleeping time.Breakfast was elegant and delicious. The resturant is much much better than the surrounding resturants it serves simple, fresh and clean meals .It's always a better idea to eat in a well reputed resturant. There were certain complains in the reviews which has been fixed by the hotel.

We visited Istanbul for the 1st time last week and chose the Seraglio based on the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor - they were not wrong. The Sergalio is a great base; ideally placed for the sights of the old city, very comfortable/clean rooms, very helpful staff, and very good value for money. We opted for a room with the private hammam - this is definitley worth the extra cash and comes in handy after spending hrs walking around the old city and its treasures. There are plenty of mini-markets close to the hotel - so no shortage of food/drink, although the mini-bar is cheap by usual European standards. I have read several reviews which complained about the breakfast - the offering is not comprehensive but is good enough for a quick bite; freshly made omelettes, tea/coffee, fresh melon, etc - the only fault I could find was that the OJ was squash rather than juice. The Seraglio may lack a business centre, swimming pool, casino, gym and all the other 5 star trimmings but I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good quality mid-range hotel in Istanbul.

The hotel is in walking distance of all the places of interest. Managed like a home, the staff is very polite and responsive to your requests. The rooms are neat and clean and remind you of your own bedroom. The breakfast is good and worth it.

It is a new, modern, comfortable Hotel, which made our stay in Istanbul a pleasent experience. The lights in the elevator whould go on and off sometimes, but it was no problem. The room was comfortable, with large bed, large closet, and roomy bathroom with a big shower. Flat screen Sat TV, and stae of the art air conditioner. The only thing dissappointing was that the light in our bathroom were not working at all, for some reason, and during our 3 night stay, even though staff were notified twice, they were never fixed. It is located right in the Sultanahmet area, which is right in the middle of all the major sightseeing. There are plenty of little bars, and restaurants in the area, and a tram station nearby which will take you almost anywjere in Istanbul. The staff is very friendly, they all speek English, and very helpfull. The breakfast buffet offers almost anything you would want for breakfast. Overall it is a Great Hotel, superior Value for Money.

With clean, light rooms, comfortable beds, good shower rooms, delicious breakfasts, excellent staff and a very convenient location it is easy to find many things to praise about this hotel and hard to find much at all to criticise. Other reviews say it all in terms of the praise-worthy aspects and we too are delighted to have found such a fantastic place to stay in what is one of our favourite cities. However we did find it noisy at night: not the street noise, or indeed even the muezzin calling, but the stair-well is a real echo-chamber and if you are unfortunate enough to have fellow guests who think nothing of coming in very late at night (or in the early morning) and talking very loudly (in Italian) then the noise is inevitably going to wake you up. Of course it is not the hotel's fault when guests are so inconsiderate, and I would definitely take the chance and return again.
