Hotel Seraglio
Ranked #16 of 1,171 Hotels in Istanbul
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We just came back from our stay at Hotel Seraglio. There is a very good reason why this hotel is ranked so highly here. It hits high marks along the three major aspects. (1) Location is fantastic. It is in the Sultanahmet district, with views of the Blue Masque, and a short walk to all the major attractions (Hagia Sophia, Blue Masque, Topkapi Palace, and the T1 stops. (2) Service is simply amazing. Pleasant and very helpful staff of the hotel will answer any of your questions. Breakfast is very tasty, with great variety of fruits, meats, cheeses, and drinks/juices. (3) Rooms are large with very large bathrooms (oh and the shower has amazing water pressure).

You just cannot go wrong with this hotel.

Went there for 3 nights and got a friendly welcome besides this count for a family place, even it isnt really. Very clean related to other places I've been in Instanbul, very helpsom and friendly staff. As low season, plenty of room. Breakfast OK, but dont expect continental or british breakfast. good starting point for city walks also using the tram which stop is located less than 500m from the hotel. Be aware that those minor hotels in the old town allways have quite thin walls, so you will hear the TV from your neighboring room..

Room Tip: try towards the lower road

Thank you for spending your valuable time to put a comment about us. We attach great attention to all comments of our guests as well as yours to improve the quality of our hospitality. But still I need to add a few words for you and for our future guests...
We always try to be sincere, friendly and helpful first to all of our guests ...I am sad and also try to figure out how you got the feeling that '' this is not a family place ... ''
I do all the f&b purchasing and I am meticulous about the products.I am sure about the quality of the food products (even better quality than big hotels ) that we serve for the open buffet breakfast. Insipite of this, it is not possible for us to serve the same amount of '' variety of food ''as big hotels with hundereds of rooms. Since we are a 14 rooms family owned and operated hotel.
Hope to see you in future and wish you the best

We found the Seraglio on trip advisor and stayed there 4 nights. Perfect location for tourists, many main attractions literally on your doorstep. The surrounding streets were very quiet (at least in feb) and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and firendly.
Excellent value for money...the room we had, although on the ground floor was clean, comfortable and looked newly equipped.
Thoroughly recommended

We stayed in this hotel in the middle of February when the weather is unpredictable and cold. The rooms were cozy warm and one day when it was raining the staff organized umbrellas for us to use for the day. The happy hour is an asset especially after sightseeing all day! The internet is reliable too!

The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the transfer. After arriving we waited 10-15 minutes for our transfer. We could have taken a taxi immediately from the airport which would have been faster. But if you take a taxi be sure to read about the rip-off problems.

This hotel has a nice, but simple, breakfast, with delicious cheeses, fruits, and fresh yoghurt. The rooms, though relatively small, had large bathrooms with wonderful showers. The location was also a huge plus. It is just minutes from the Hagia Sophia and other sites, ascwell as a tram stop. The carpet sellers are relentless.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, we felt very safe in their care. The private hamam suite was very nice to have after a long day of walking. This is the perfect location to stay! Very close to the blue mosque and ayasofya along with tons of shops and restaurants you can fill up a week of things to do without having to get into a car or tram. Great location great staff and very clean! Looking forward to going back

We stayed for about 6 days in Seraglio hotel and was really happy with the service we got. The staff went out of their way to make our trips easy and to make us feel like family. We always got very good instructions to some of the sites outside of Sultanahmet.

The best sites to go to in Istanbul are so close to the hotel and public transport is easily accessible. There are so many restaurants around and the Grand Bazaar is an easy walk.

The breakfast is not only substantial but very delicious with fresh orange juice made for you from the fresh Turkish oranges. During the day, a cup of tea or a bowl of soup is always ready to welcome you from your sightseeing.

We are going to stay at the hotel when we get back there next month.
