“Fantastic, friendly, quiet & convenient”

We loved everything about our stay here: the location is perfect, on a quiet street two blocks from the Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque, whose minarets we could see out our window; the room was surprisingly large and comfortable, especially for an old-quarter hotel, and the bathroom was shiny and modern; and most importantly, the staff were impeccable -- friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be of assistance and to make our stay special. We recommend them unconditionally.

A very relaxing experience. Great hospitable staff, great location in Old Istanbul, very clean room and bath, comfortable bed. Great balcony with the triple room we booked.
Book through their website to make use of their offers: free airport pick up, cash discount. We received a warm welcome and early check in that we really appreciated.
The buffet breakfast is great, very tasty and varied, served in a comfortable room, good variety of teas and great coffee. They also have complementary tea time in the afternoon.
There are tea making facilities in the room, kettle, tea bags, sugar, for your convenience.
Free wi-fi, but if you didn't bring your laptop there is a business desk in the small lobby area with a laptop.
After a busy day you so look forward to coming home (always a good sign that you made the right choice). We checked into a bigger hotel after that and really regretted it. We missed our cozy room and unbeatable location. A really good neighborhood for eating out or just going for a walk, quite safe at night too. My favorite hotel so far. Will definitely visit Istanbul again but part of what made it special was Seraglio without a doubt!

Room Tip: The triple room has its own balcony area to relax in and have afternoon tea.

From the first contact inquiring about the complimentary airport pick up to the last minute of them waving us goodbye, our Seraglio experience was wonderful. The staff, Celal, Kenan and the others, were all friendly and helpful, giving us great and honest advice about where to eat and what to see. There were certainly a few nice places we would have never found on our own and which no guide book mentions, such as the Nargileh place on Divan Yolu.

We had the Deluxe room, which was spotless and spacious, with a modern bathroom. We had a king size bed and a sofa, which they had turned into a bed as well. Our friends had the hamam room. If you don't care about the hamam bath, take the Deluxe room (101) as it's bigger and has a balcony.

The nice rooms combined with the free airport pick up, complimentary breakfast, and complimentary happy hour teas, coffees and cakes make Seraglio great value for money. As it was very cold when we were there, it was so nice to "come home" at the end of the day to warm apple tea and Turkish coffee. The entire hotel is pretty cozy, with a cute lobby and just 14 rooms.

We were expecting the area of Sultanahmet to be touristy in a very tacky way, but we actually found the small streets cozy, and enjoyed how conveniently close the hotel was to a lot of the sights and good restaurants.

The only things I would change are the lighting in the bistro, which aren't very cozy, and I could do without the automatic air freshener in the bath room.

Seraglio staff were very courteous and helpful, providing great tips on places to see and do (kudos to Celal specially). The location is a convenient starting point for seeing the Old Istanbul sights and then dining out at the end of the day among the many eateries around it. The complimentary afternoon tea and pastries was a welcome respite. The rooms were clean and the hamam in the room was soothing and fun. Complimentary breakfast made for a great start to the day.

Hotel Seraglio is the right place. It is a vey clean hotel in a superb location in the old city.It is also ten min. right to the city center(Taksim Sq).Staff speaks good English and very helpfull. You can see the manager (Cagri )all around in time.He gives good advice about Istanbul(listen to him!!)We ate a lot from the buffet breakfast cant be better in a such small hotel. We will definitely come back if we visit Istanbul again.

P.S They have good promotions on their own site, such as free ride from the airport which was very useful.

Room Tip: Get the hammam it is so cool !!

We stayed at the hotel from 20th - 30th October 2011. It is impecably clean and comfortable. All staff are well-trained, friendly and helpful. It is ideally situated. Buffet breakfast was excellent, complete with home-made pastries and preserves. Having travelled extensively , this is the first time I have known m husband to give a hotel top ranking in all categories.

Room Tip: If you have any mobility problems be sure to ask for a ground floor room or lift acess
