“Fantastic area”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

So much to explore and view just wandering around is fantastic. There is always so much going on and hearing the call to prayer is great too and just adds to the experience. The area is filled with restaurants, cafés and amazing places to explore like the blue mosque, aya sofya, basilica cistern and topkapi to name just a few!

“History in abundance”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

Istanbul (Constantinople of Byzantium) is one of the most historical cities in the world.
The old city and Sultanahmet area is where to start. This is where the Sultanahmet mosque (Blue mosque), the Hagia Sofia mosque/museum, Topkapi palace, the Basilica cistern, the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar are situated, and one is only a tram ride away from the Bosphorus riverside (tram station Eminonu).
This a bustling area with lots to see and places to stop for a snack or lunch.
