“Stunning City!”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

Istanbul is such a beautiful contrast between the old & new cultures, it's amazing. Everything is so clean and you feel safe walking around the Sultanahmet area day or night. Most of the sights worth seeing Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Museum are all within a 10 minute walking distance of each other around a square garden so easy to plan a day out. We were only in Istanbul for 9 hours on this trip and we managed to see everything and shop around the grand Bazaar in this time quite easily. Wonderful place & people.

“Istanbul short break”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Great city to visit. Plenty to see and do though not particularly good for children. Try to stay near The Hippodrome where all the main sites are situated. Very safe though some annoyance from touts. Don't miss the Bosphorus Ferry Trip and a fish butty for lunch!

“A melting pot of eastern and european cultures”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Istanbul is a destination not to be missed. We visited during February 2013,and even though it was cold and rainy,we were still able to visit some of the tourist highlights of this amazing city-Aya Sofia,Topkapi Palace,Blue Mosque,Basilica Cistern, Gallata Bridge , are must see places if you are on a short visit, like myself.
Dont book the Bosphorus cruise via your tour guide. There are many people offering the same guided cruise, which your guide might persuade you to take for a fortune, from as little as 8 Turkish Lira.
In Istanbul,if you stay in the historical quarter on the Asian side, most of the tourist sights ,including the famous bazaar are within a walking distance.
We enjoyed the food from the small cafes,as well as some of the street food. During winter the small fish served with a large flat bread and salad, which we bought from a street vendor was most enjoyable. Turkish food is not only Sheesh kebab, the fish served in a toasted flat bread with salad is absolutely delicious..Turkey has a wonderful array of food available. We bought fresh baklava and turkish delight which is far better than the prepacked ones, to take home.
The Turkish people are very warm and hospitable people, despite not being fluent in English..
Whilst in Istanbul dont forget to visit the Spice Bazaar where you can buy lemon tea,a cure recommended for coughs and colds ,by the Turkish people .
I am definitely considering a visit to Turkey again.
