“Great hotel”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

It was my firts time in Istambul and I think hotel Han is a perfect place to stay. It is clean, cheap and location is perfect - very close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, the Hipprodome, the Archeological Museum and Grand Bazaar. Also the connection via tram is very good.
So, this hotel is highly recomended to everybody wh want live in a nice place for a resonable money.
Breakfast also very good, wifi is free and fast and hotel staff are very helpful.

Room Tip: Room #203 is a little bit noisy because of transformer box outside.

We stayed at this hotel when we first arrived Istanbul. It's right in the perfect location in Istanbul. The room is pink and well decorated and looked after, although the room is quite small. I chose the one with small balcony and we really enjoyed the view of Sofia Hagia so much. It's also very close to Sultanahmed tram station. Food is also lovely but quite expensive. The owner is really nice. He helped us with the hotel we tried to book in another city too. It's good for a couple.

Stayed with 3 friend in Han hotel Istanbul. I selected this hotel because of location, price and good coments on travel sites.
The location is super and the price is fair but normally you get what you pay for. In this occation this is.Rooms are rather small and narrow but the plus is that they have no TV to disturb you. Beside that this is rather cheap hotel you get many extra things that you dont allways get, extra polite and helpful staff, included breakfast was great and best location in town.
All around there are good restaurants as well as fine restaurant connected to the hotel then there is a Panorama restaurant next door there you can see all ower.
If yo as a traweller by any chance have opporotunity to go to football match with any of the 3 big teams of Istanbul you will NEWER forget that live experience. I got ticket with Fenerbache and i woul not have missed that.
Yes forgot there is free internet.

Room Tip: Out of 3 rooms the best room was on top floor.

Particularly for travelers like me with limited time (was in Istanbul for only 3 days), Hotel Han is an excellent choice.
First off is convenience. It is located like 10-15 minutes walking distance from the main sites - Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, the Hipprodome, the Archeological Museum, etc. the hotel is very near the tram stop and perhaps 30 minutes walk from the Grand & Spice Bazaars.
the hotel is charming and very colorful, my idea of the colors of Turkey. My room is in different shades of red, from the walls to the bedspread, but the private bathroom is in cool white & blue. Perhaps because I went there off-season, I got one of the best rooms, at the top of the hotel with balcony and view of Hagia Sofia! In summer, the balcony would be an excellent spot to linger with a table and bench but alas it was too cold when I visited.
Breakfast was decent and served. The room is kinda small and tight but just right for a solo traveler like me. My bed appears to be 2 single beds joined together but given very little space, they would hardly separate to make 2 beds!
The staff was helpful and provided good direction and assistance. I am so bad with names but I think the first one named "Baha" was particularly helpful, even arranging the Bosphorus cruise and directions on how to best explore the city.
The hotel is small though, has like 11 rooms spread over 4 floors. so there's no elevator and the stairs are spiral with narrow steps. for some people, this maybe difficult, particularly if you have heavy bags!
If you don't mind the walk up, ask for rooms 301 or 302, at the top. both has balcony with view of the city.

Hotel Han is a really good place to stay in Istanbul. My mum and me stayed there for 6 nights, although we both had our own rooms. The rooms were small and cozy but also equipped with all things necessary (fridge, hair dryer, A/C, heater). Also they were cleaned every single day. My mums room actually had a balcony with view to Aya Sofia.
I also liked the free Wifi being offered as well as the possibility of using a computer/laptop of the hotel.

The hotel is perfectly placed, less than five minutes away from Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar and it is very close to the tram station "Sultanahmet". Also, if you are going to stay in Hotel Han, check out the Hotel Kybele two doors up for its traditional decoration.

I personally think the Hotel makes up for its slight flaws (broken lightbulb here and there...) through the staff. Even though some of the staff did not have very good english skills, they tried their best to help you in whatever way they could. Especially one of the owners, Baha, was very helpful in finding good places to eat, what to visit, how much too pay for this etc. The breakfast was always a small surprise, as there was a different turkish national dish placed offered every day. I personally liked the home-made cakes.

It definitely was a great price-value ratio and I am going to recommend this place to friends.

It was my first trip to Istanbul, and I made the right choice of accomodation. Han hotel is a great place to stay at. First advantage - location. All major city attractions are within 5 minutes walk. My window overlooked the Yerebatan street and Aya Sofya. Next - the price, it is very adequate and moderate (well, probably my stay coincided with low season, but still the quality/price balance is attractive). The interior is very authentic, the room is not big, but very cosy, homelike and clean. Fantastic view, as I've already mentioned. Administrators and the staff are helpful and friendly, always ready to help, and speak rather good english. Breakfast is generous and tasty. Transfer to/from Ataturk airport is also provided (though it is very convenient to reach the airport by tram and subway). Generally, it is a very good place to stay at.

I have choosen the Han hotel for my 5 nights stay in Istanbul because of reviews and high rank and was more than happy with the choice! First of all the location is great - it is in Sultanahmet which is very close to Ayasofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and other sightseeing places and to the tram station. The room was small but really cosy, clean (they clean every day), good pressure of both cold and hot water and what matters in the end of November – it was very warm! I am now writing feeling gratitude to the owners and staff of the hotel and restaurant – the service is very good, people were helpful, positive, giving useful advice about places to see, directions, transport etc. As we discussed with other guests of the hotel – you feel that people do care about you, that you are heartily welcomed there so we experienced a real eastern hospitality. The style of the hotel is really Eastern because of that you feel immersed to the different culture right away – I liked that! Their breakfasts as well is a really good treat – big portions, always with a lots of fruit and very friendly waitress Lena, served with a cake cooked the same morning – totally loved it! Look forward to my next trip to Istanbul and would stay at Han hotel for sure!
