My husband and I were in Istanbul for seven nights in late January til February 1, 2010. We had initially booked at another hotel, up the street, but since it was undergoing major renovation, we worked out a deal to move to the White House. What a good move that was! The location is excellent, within walking distance of most of the famous sites and within one block of public transport. There are excellent restaurants within half a block but the street upon which it's located is quiet. It just opened last month and is small with a friendly staff, excellent management and beautiful rooms and lobby. The breakfast room is nice and the food good. Each night, upon returning to the hotel, we felt as though we were returning home. We had tea with the staff several times and enjoyed their company, but if we had not wanted to socialize, they would have understood. Elif is a lovely young woman and Harun, Cadir and others are very pleasant and helpful.
The bathrooms are well-equipped and the rooms are decorated with nice details. The beds are very comfortable and we slept soundly each night. The staff speaks good English and perhaps other languages as well. They also offer pick-up from or deliver to the airport free (one-way). For a hotel in this price range, we would highly recommend this hotel for any traveler - with or without family.More
