If you want to stay near the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia in Istanbul, Bucoleon Palace is a great choice. It's a little off the main route, and not in the center of all the other hotels, so it's quiet without lacking nearby restaurants. The Blue Mosque is about a 5-minute walk away. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and speaks English (for the most part), and the breakfast is pretty good, too.
