“Convenient Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

I have stayed at this hotel for four nights in July, got back yesterday. The hotel has a very convenient location, the staff is extremely friendly, especially Okan, happy to help with all the information needed. The room was clean, perfect size, and I would definitely recommend it! I know where I will be staying next time in beautiful Istanbul! Highly recommendable!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the hotel for six nights. For anyone wanting to take in the Blue Mosque, AyaSofya, Topkapi Palace - pretty much all the must-see attractions - the location is ideal and is only a few minutes walk from everything. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is pretty average and the rooms are not big (not that this was an issue) but, given the great price, this should come as no surprise. Our only issue was with sleeping. Perhaps it was our room (on the third floor), but we kept being woken up at around 7-8am when other rooms were being cleaned. We also had trouble sleeping through the morning call for prayer.

I would recommend this hotel for people on a budget, and for people who want to sight-see.

Extra note: Food in this area is pretty dire (Lonely Planet says Sultanahmet is not the best for dining out). We recommend heading to Beyoglu and Cihangir for dinner.

Room Tip: You should ask for a room that does not face the railway line.

The hotel was in a great location for access to Old Istanbul. The hotel room was clean but very small. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Our hotel room was right at the back of the hotel, street side and close to the trainline, which was all very noisy, so combined with the uncomfortable bed we did not sleep very much at all. The terrace had great views over the Bosphorus and the mosque, but we went up there for a drink and nobody came to serve us. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good.

The antis hotel has a perfect location if you want tranquility at your hotel. Situated on a bank a 5 minute walk from the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and the topkapi palace. Do not allow the idea of a bank to put you off as the whole city is on hills. The views from the terrace are amazing, you have superb view of the marmara sea and the blue mosque. It is located far enough away from the centre to be a peaceful and tranquil place to rest, but equally close. The rooms are adequate in size. The staff are incredibly helpful and polite. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future. The terrace is such a lovely place to soak up the sun in a quiet and tranquil environment.

Room Tip: Corner suite facing blue mosque is perfect as there is a railway directly at the back. However this...

We stayed here for four nights. Great location, a couple of blocks from the sea, a couple of blocks the other way to a small bazaar and the Blue Mosque.
The highlight was the rooftop garden/bar, lovely views and good service. Breakfast was included in our rate and was good, fresh, good variety. Friendly, helpful staff!
Our room was on the street side (they may all be??) and it was a little noisy but not too bad. Be prepared for the call to prayer just after 5:00am.
A negative, the beds were pretty hard.

My first time in Istanbul and chose this hotel based on previous reviews from travelers. Lovely location within walking distance to many of the wonderful locations in Old Istanbul. Small rooms but very comfortable with excellent free wifi and good breakfast choices. Staff are wonderful and I will be staying here again should I be lucky enough to visit Istanbul again!! Wonderful views of the Bosphorus and Mosque from the rooftop terrace.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel where it is quieter as the street front rooms can be a littl...

This hotel is perfectly located in the old part of Istanbul, which is where you need to be to soak in the most of this amazing city.
No unpleasant surprises in terms of rooms, cleanliness or general services. It overlooks the Blue Mosque on one side and the Marmara Sea on the other. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
However, the biggest missed opportunity is that the hotel fails to squeeze the best out of its amazing roof-top. The morning view is wasted as the kitchen is downstairs and while others in the vicinity can be seen enjoying their breakfast on nearby hotel terraces, you are holed up indoors on the ground floor.
There is a functional bar on the terrace which remains dead as a result of far more buzzing ones just round the corner. It also shuts at 1pm, which is much earlier than the general night life around. But a good option for those on the lookout for a romantic hideout in this incessantly alive city.
Anyone on a budget trip to Istanbul can blindly book this hotel if it seems like the best deal. But make sure you compare prices with the other 4 stars in the area as they offer similar facilities with a proper terrace feel throughout the day.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up give you a better view.
