My first time in Istanbul and chose this hotel based on previous reviews from travelers. Lovely location within walking distance to many of the wonderful locations in Old Istanbul. Small rooms but very comfortable with excellent free wifi and good breakfast choices. Staff are wonderful and I will be staying here again should I be lucky enough to visit Istanbul again!! Wonderful views of the Bosphorus and Mosque from the rooftop terrace.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel where it is quieter as the street front rooms can be a little noisy.

This hotel is perfectly located in the old part of Istanbul, which is where you need to be to soak in the most of this amazing city.
No unpleasant surprises in terms of rooms, cleanliness or general services. It overlooks the Blue Mosque on one side and the Marmara Sea on the other. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
However, the biggest missed opportunity is that the hotel fails to squeeze the best out of its amazing roof-top. The morning view is wasted as the kitchen is downstairs and while others in the vicinity can be seen enjoying their breakfast on nearby hotel terraces, you are holed up indoors on the ground floor.
There is a functional bar on the terrace which remains dead as a result of far more buzzing ones just round the corner. It also shuts at 1pm, which is much earlier than the general night life around. But a good option for those on the lookout for a romantic hideout in this incessantly alive city.
Anyone on a budget trip to Istanbul can blindly book this hotel if it seems like the best deal. But make sure you compare prices with the other 4 stars in the area as they offer similar facilities with a proper terrace feel throughout the day.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up give you a better view.

We booked a 3 night stay at this hotel via Lastminute.com. I think they bill it as a 4* but I would say it's a good 3* by UK standards.
I emailed the hotel in advance and they arranged a taxi transfer from and to the airport for us - this worked very well and was reasonable at 50Euros return.
The location is good - inside the city walls in Sultanahmet and only 5 mins walk to the Blue Mosque. In fact there is a fabulous view of the Blue Mosque from the roof terrace.
We were allocated a room with sea view. The view was great but having the sea view also meant we overlooked the railway line. This wasn't too bad though as very few trains came past when we were in the room. The room was comfortable and clean as was the shower room.
The buffet breakfast was adequate, not the best I've ever had but good for the standard and cost of the hotel.
On the subject of noise - the hotel is right between 2 mosques and so several times a day the call to prayer begins from one and then from the other, sometimes overlapping. The first one in the morning is about 5am! However there are so many mosques in the city that you're bound to hear the call to prayer wherever you stay.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
They did however recommend a fish restaurant to us - Sur Balik - but we had a terrible meal and experience there so one to avoid in my opinion - see my separate review of this.

Room Tip: Avoid sea view rooms if you want to avoid noise from the railway line.

We booked a package through Last Minute for a long weekend. The Hotel was well situated and apart from one late night when we got a taxi back we walked to most places. The room I had and shared was spacious. I always like hotels that provide safes free of a supplemental charge. The room my fiends had which was a corner room was smaller and lacked light as it only had one small window.

The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and was cleaned every day. There were fresh towels. Breakfast was included. This was a distinctively average buffet. There were some hot options but once the scrambled eggs had gone there was no more. The second morning I waited for the eggs to be re-stocked but to no avail. The last morning I asked the chef for more eggs but despite the chef looking at the empty container three times after I had asked for some more the eggs were still not forthcoming. The waiter paid little or no interest either. I don't expect food to be wasted but no effort was made to assist or cook to order, unless of course you paid a supplemental fee! The hotel had a great roof top terrace. The views were stunning and were blessed with great weather. The beers were very expensive. Despite wanting to sit up there enjoy the view and have a drink we inevitably found somewhere with better views and reasonably priced beers.
All in all the hotel was good for the basics and provided a good base for our trip, but it was not a hotel that made a lasting impression.

Stayed 6 nights. Hotel is in great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A tip each morning goes a long way rather than leaving it to the end of your stay.
Hotel manager, Okan, gave us lots of advice and arranged a trip to local Hamam for us, highly recommended. Plenty of time to relax in the baths followed by great massages, Turkish style. Our waiter, Senol, couldn't be more helpful either always on hand to top up your coffee. He even cooked me a special omelette one morning when we were a little late to breakfast. Brilliant.
The railway line adjacent to the hotel caused no issue as it was not a busy line.
Ferry trip was well worth doing. We had lunch in Asia at a harbour side restaurant, Baba's. Blue fish, salad and beer after a walk up the hill to see local castle was fab.
Get the 3 day pass to the museums etc. as it is much cheaper. Bazaars are well worth a visit and you have to try the street kebabs!!!
From the hotel you are only a short walk to the main sites but if you want to go further then get the tram.
We had a great time in Istanbul and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 301 which has a great view of the blue Mosque and views out over the water. Nice comfy room with excellent shower in ensuite.
