“Well located hotel, with a super view!”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

We stayed three nights at the Venera, in order to see the city, on our way back from Antalya. The taxi driver from the airport took a long time to find the hotel. I recommend that future guests take the map or hotel phone number along with them.
The hotel is situated in the center of the textile wholesalers, and a lot of shopping can be made within a city block. Public transport is available nearby, making it easy to travel anywhere. The Sultan Ahmet mosque is within walking distance.
The bar on the terrace of the 9th floor offers a superb view of the Bosporus, and we spent the three evenings there, enjoying drinks and the view!
The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable, and typical of a 4 star hotel in the center. Noise could be heard from the adjacent rooms, but muffled. The wireless internet worked very well everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was ordinary, and the omelets were good.
I recommend this hotel for textile shoppers in Istanbul especially, although access to tourism sites is easy from there.
We did not use the pool or spa facilities, and had dinner only once at the terrace bar.

Room Tip: Higher rooms with a view on the Bosporus are recommended, if available.

The hotel is quite nice. We did appreciate that a room for 3 people actually had three proper beds in it although the mattresses was of very poor quality you could feel every spring, other than that clean and nicly decorated, loved the bathroom! Breakfast rather disappointing though the view was very nice. Omelette station was nice when open.

The surroundings is a huge shopping area and it was actually a bit tricky to find a restaurant close by. Don't expect any help from the front desk staff, they only want to sell you tickets for a boatride or a dinner with a shuttlebus, they were kind of rude everytime we asked for any help or directions and because of that I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

This hotel is located close to historic areas of Istanbul with Sultanahmet and the Grand Bazaar both within easy walking distance. While it's not the height of glamour it's reasonably comfortable, and there are good views from the rooftop bar and restaurant, where a typical Turkish breakfast is also served.
I stayed one night with a group en route to another part of Turkey, so I didn't make use of the spa facilities (there's also a small swimming pool in the basement) and the price was included in the rest of the holiday so I don't know what the rate was.
I would stay again for similar reasons but probably wouldn't choose this hotel for a longer stay.

Really, I don't like this hotel, it is not 4 star, and not deserve their price, it is ok if classified as 3 star with 3 star price, basically it is clean, but small room, lake of sevice, bad wireless internet, the spa center is too small and all job done by one male.

Nice hotel but really 3 - 31/2 stars rather than 4 star.
Basic clean rooms
Fine for a one night stay but wouldn't want to stay here much longer than that.
Thin walls also. Can quite clearly hear conversations being held in the next room.
Restaurant and Bar upstairs are very good with amazing views.

after booking via a seperate website we were sent an e mail saying the card was not accepted as it was a debit card (they needed a credit card) so we booked again using a credit card and received our confirmation, however on arrival at the hotel they had no record of our payment and didnt take the confirmation email as proof of payment, why i dont know as you only get confirmation after payment! so we had to pay again but because it was not online or through the website they charged us extra plus we were charged for transaction abroad. When we got home we checked the bank account and weren't surprised to see we had been charged twice, the second time much more than the original booking cost. We sent an email to the hotel with copies of bank statements proving their mistake and explained they need to refund the larger sum as it was their mistake, so they replied saying sorry for the mistake (which had left us a bit short on cash for the rest of the trip due to paying for the hotel with our spending money) and the money would be refunded within 15 - 20 days. After 1 month still no refund but they insisted that they had made the transfer then finally after another month of emails and complaints we recieved the money but not the full amount but too fed up to claim the rest back. Shocked that an apparently respected hotel not only made this mistake in the first place but also took so long to sort out such a simple matter, well nearly sort out!

I stayed in this hotel for only 4 days and had nothing to complain about.
Good food, clean and comfortable rooms.

What's more, there's a nice small Italian restaurant upstairs with great cousin, interior and view of the Bosphorus.
