“So thrilled!”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

Met a real tram my whole life!
So thrilled and so excited!

The tram coursing through Istaklal Cadisi, the busiest street in the metropolis.
Riding it is like taking a boat in the lake of endless people. Yes, the street is flooded
with thousands of tourist. Being in it takes you to a window shop from a distance.

at TL 2.00 round trip, this will remarkably make your day.
to go: go down at kabatas tram station, take 90-secod ride via funiculum to taksim and going up there you will meet the tram!

enjoy your ride as much as I do.

“Picturesque and quite touristy.”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

The famous and a bit 'touristy Galatasaray Tram, I didn't know much about it, but it was nice to see it go in one of the busiest streets of the city, inside filled with people and even some kid hanging on the back side getting a free ride. I saw many people taking photos at this tram passing, it must be some sort of tourist attraction.

“It is, indeed, a tram”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

It is a great way to get up to Taksim Square. Easy, fast. But it is quite crowded as this is a common method for the locals to get from one side of the Bosphorous to the other.

“Exciting”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

"In the end of Istanbul's most popular street, there lay a historical funicular railway line – Tunnel - that many Turks feel proud of although it is brainchild of a French engineer who convinced Ottoman sultan to construct a railway between business center, Galata, to entertainment place, Pera. Tunnel is the world's second oldest railway after London Underground (1863)."
As of Aug. 2012, The "Funicular" was still operating, we used it when renting at "Galata Flats" in Beyoglu, a place nearby Galata Tower. It was especially very exciting for the kids, we had four grandchildren, who enjoyed it most.
We were in that area Aug. 13-19, 2012

“vintage streetcar”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

We (especially my 4 years old boy) enjoyed very much the streetcar ride on Istiklal street.
It's usually crowded but it's worth the money and your children will love it!
