We have had pizza from the Upper Crust twice, as it was one of a handful of food purveyors near our hotel (Ciragan Palace), and offered a nice light alternative to the hotel restaurants. Service was friendly and fast, and the thin crust pizza is fabulous. We had the “Istanbul” both times. It is topped with mushrooms, two local sausages and a regional pepper (hotter than a bell pepper, but not really spicy at all) and would recommend it. The menu is very unique from a Western perspective, and we found the “Istanbul” to be a good balance of Turkish ingredients that appeal to a Canadian flavor palette. The restaurant itself is very small, but clean and comfortable. The pizza was well priced (25 Lira for a large, so about $13) and of very good quality.
