“great value and warm service”

I was nervous staying in a budget hotel but felt immediately reassured upon my arrival. The staff all spoke excellent English and couldn't have done anything more to make my stay a success. I took a room on the 4th floor with a balcony and a beautiful view over the water. The rooms have everything you need to be comfortable including hotel slippers! I really liked that I could adjust the hydronic heating to suit my needs.

Yes, the previous reviews were correct. Whilst the hotel is off the main streets and in a lovely quiet location, at times the rooms were noisy. I could hear people in other rooms. In saying that I did ask my neighbours to be quiet with success.
I would recommend this hotel to travellers on a budget.

Our stay in Tulip House was fine, although there were some flaws. First of all, the hotel is REALLY noisy. I mean, you can hear everything happening behind the closed door: coughing, laughing, talking, etc. Besides, our room was situated right next to the terrace exit, and starting from 7.30 AM we were woken up by the door banging and people passing by. So, if you are looking for a really quiet place to stay, Tulip House is not what you need.
As for the pluses, the hotel is very close to all the main attractions, just about 5 minutes on foot to the Blue mosque. At the end of the street you can also find a mosque built in the XVI century!
Breakfast was good and sufficient, although coffee during breakfast was horrible.
All in all, Tulip House is a good place to stay for young couples. Staying here with little children might be a problem.

Room Tip: Try asking for a room upstairs although the stairs leading there is quite narrow and steep but the r...

I stayed in this hotel for 12 days in December 2013 and I really felt like at home together with friends. The location is situated very central to the main sightseeing spots in Sultanachmed. Everyting by walking just five minutes. Very quiet place, no street noise. The rooms are clean nice furniture, good matresses. Spectacular view of the sea. breakfast buffet is everyday made fresh. Lot of different kind of bread, cheese, sausage, marmelade, etc. Also warm food, four different kinds. Dried and fresh fruits, vegetable, cereals, yoghourt...You can not eat all.But the best is the very warm and friendly staff, Their advices are better than any touristguide, a lot of insidertips, allways helpfull.

Room Tip: Best rooms are on first and second floor

During my few last days of my Istanbul trip, i chose to stay at Hotel Tulip House . It was a wise decision to stay in this hotel. This cosy boutique hotel is definitely not to be missed when you visit Istanbul. Although it is away from the hassle and noise from the streets. The room, with a spectacular view of the Marmara sea (see attached photo) has a very distinctive European decor. Most importantly , the bathroom is clean (includes separate shower room and toilet with bidet). Ni, the hotel staff , was friendly and hospitable. The breakfast spread comprising of Mediterranean/ Western fare was delectable. Definitely highly recommended for those who enjoy relaxing quiet stay in hotels.

We spent 4 nights at Tulip house this November. It was our second time visiting Istanbul. The guesthouse is really centrally located, just a few steps from the main square of the Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet. We were given the basement room, which to be honest, could have done with a bit more cleaning. Towels were ok as well as the sheets, but the floor was a bit dusty, the TV was just a screen fixed in the wall and the furniture a bit old and again a bit dusty. The terrace advertised was not a rooftop terrace but a ground floor garden. You can see the sea only if you go outside the breakfast area. Breakfast is ok, although the coffee served is Nescaffe instant coffee rather than espresso or turkish coffee (for those who would prefer the last two). All in all, it could have done with a bit of renovation in terms of furniture, although I guess it makes up for it given its location and affordable price.

Room Tip: Do not opt for the ground floor rooms (if you have a choice that is :)

We stayed at Hotel Tulip House for 3 nights at the end of November. All staff there was always very helpful in every aspect. We had a double with balcony overlooking the Bosporus and some mosques, very beautiful. Our room was very clean as was the bathroom with a brilliant shower, big soft towels and also a hairdryer. The breakfast was plentiful and a good variety of turkish and western food. All in all we had no complaint s whatsoever and when in Istanbul again we will surely stay in Hotel Tulip House again.

Room Tip: Best rooms are definitely the ones with balcony.

Stayed there twice - once at the start of our trip and once at the end. Booked this after reading amazing reviews on TA - as always. The place matched every one of our expectations. Sadly, we didn't stay in the rooms actually - but were put up next door at art city - both times because of early and really late arrivals :). But they were apologetic and gave us a free ride to the airport for the troubles.
Art city's rooms were very good - so I am not complaining at all
We still had breakfast here - which was quite a spread and the best during our stay at turkey. We also used the facilities and hung out with the staff
Staff - Ni , very friendly and helpful and the best :).
Would love to come back again and actually stay in the rooms :)
