“The best place in the best city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2012

We had the opportunity to be in Istanbul September 10 to 14 2012 and based on TripAdvisor reviews decided to go to Tulip House.
Wonderful people. Place was clean, room with fantastic view, breakfast was very good (food in Turkey is fantastic!) and I we felt at home with the staff.
Also the geographical location of the hotel is superb. Close to the tram and in the center of the city. Easy access to all touristic main attractions.
Emra (one of the owners) became an instant friend. All staff are warm people. We are already planning to go back. There is no place like Istanbul and in Tulip we felt great.
Thanks everyone....

I found this B & B from TA and we weren't disappointed. The exterior of this place was very inviting, maybe I was drawn into the terracota brick wall, it has a boutique feel to it. The front office was very personable and they're there for you with any questions you might have. Another plus side, if you booked through their website and you're staying with them 4 days or longer, they'll give you a free pick up from Ataturk airport to the hotel. Just be warned, the person picking you up might be late. They also offer tours from their website.
The breakfast buffet was amazing. Good breakfast and a great view! You might even see the seagull every morning. No need to spend money for breakfast. The room itself is very basic, comfortable and clean.
The main attractions are walkable, like 5 min. away. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations and if I find myself in Istanbul again, I will definitely stay here. Thanks to the staff, Emrah, Mehmet and Ni!

Two blocks from the tram. One of the clerks walked over to assist us to the hotel in a working class family neighborhood. We really felt authenticly in Istanbul. Rooms were priced well. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Marmara Sea. Not on the water but the view including the Sinan mosque was delicious. Very attentive staff/polite/helpful recommendations for non-tourist restaurants. I'd come back here. One caution: no elevator and the marble stairs are a challenge.

The staff at Hotel Tulip House make it such a wonderful place to stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, warm, and genuine. They helped us with our luggage, provided us with a nicer room (at no additional cost!), and gave us plenty of wonderful restaurant recommendations. The breakfast, on a terrace with a view overlooking the Marmara Sea, is amazing. Whatever we needed, the hotel graciously provided. The location is great for a first-time visitor to Istanbul, as you can easily walk to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia in 5 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel.

I felt very safe and comfortable at Hotel Tulip House. It is a quick walk (5ish min) to main attractions in the Sultanamet area. The staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants and helping us with transportation. The accommodations are basic, but it is clean and a great value for the money. The air conditioning and free Wi-fi worked well. The outdoor patio for breakfast was lovely.

Room Tip: Pay the extra money for the rooms with a view!

The room with terrace is beautiful, the sea view is breathtaking in the morning. The location is perfect for those who like to do everything by foot. The hotel staff is friendly and really considerate. Great stay!

Room Tip: Sea view with terrace is worth it.

This was our first time to Istanbul and all staff at Hotel Tulip House made us feel very welcome. We organised an airport pick-up, which, although slightly more expensive than a taxi would be, was more convenient because they knew exactly where to go (not easy to find at first!). We were stuck in awfully long immigration queues but they waited for us. The Sultanahmet area where the hotel is located is picturesque, with many local families living in the neighbourhood, and lots of cute cats roaming around the streets.
We arrived early in the morning, and were offered breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. Mehmet and the other staff were chatty and genuinely interested in our travel plans, and provided great advice about Istanbul.
The room (Marmara sea view) was tastefully appointed and very clean. Gorgeous view to wake up and come home to! WIFI worked flawlessly, and the cable TV options were excellent. We slept well until some loud Germans occupied next door to us-- not the hotel's fault.
Breakfast, as others have said, was extensive and served in lovely courtyard area. Lots of nice vegetarian options. The two women who work there were very friendly.
Overall I was very satisfied with this hotel and I absolutely fell in love with Istanbul, so much so that I've organised a trip back there! Will definitely be staying at Hotel Tulip House again.
