This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel
The location is good, about a 5 min walk from the main shopping street that leads to taksim.
My room was quite small, however as its just me staying its not an issue
Upon arriving in my room I noticed the wi-fi signal to be very weak, this was the same last year in another room, as I was here I asked to change rooms, but instead they sent someone up with a modem/booster...which worked well
However the air conditioning unit in the room is complicated to use, and its woefully weak...no apparent cooling effect whatsoever...luckily the weather hasnt been that warm. I like a cool room to sleep, so wanted the window open, but its impossible in that room as it faced an small road in between the hotel and other buildings and was just so damn noisy...People walking up and down the road occasionally yelling out to one another, vehicles, banging noises, etc.....the worst sleep i have ever had in any hotel over the last 15 years of me travelling the world for work. No wonder the hotel supplies free earplugs in your room! (Which didnt help that much either). Not quite the experience I had last year.
The bed is quite firm, not my taste.
The hotel is attached to the restaurant next door that is very convenient, and one nice touch was one night there was a power cut, only for about a minute however the staff left a voucher in the room for a free drink in next door's bar/restaurant. I thought that was nice
One thing I will add, is you dont get service with a smile here, but that seems to be a Turkish thing....grumpy, miserable unfriendly looking staff.....but nice people though.....
Would I stay here again on my next trip? Yes, I would, bt after this experience, I am going to ask for a quiet room and one with working effective aircon!
