Just returned from 3 nights at the Hotel Grand Peninusula. The hotel had been recommended to me by a friend who had stayed there last year and we were not disappointed. I booked directly with Ramazan Iktay via the web site email address. I had asked for a triple room with three single beds and when we arrived we were upgraded to a double and a single room adjacent to each other. The location is perfect. Three minutes walk from the Aya Sofya and Blue Mosque where you can get the tram or tour buses although we walked around the city mostly and took taxis which were relatively cheap if we got tired. The rooms were clean and warm. The traditional breakfast of bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables was plentiful and served by a pleasant lady in the dining room next to the roof terrace as the weather was cold.
All in all the service was very personal, the hotel ideal. We plan to return there on our return trip to Istanbul ( whenver that will be!).More
