“Budget gem in the heart of the Old City”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

I booked a "budget single" room and was pleasantly surprised by the amenities rarely offered at a price point comparable to the cost of a bed in a hostel dorm room. The room and bath were spotless. There was a hairdrier and toiletries in the bathroom. The heater could be turned up, down or off. The window to the street opened and closed. There was reliable WIFI and a flat screen TV with remote in the room. Yes, the room was small and dated but perfectly adequate. I appreciated the comfortable double bed and reading lamp. My only concerns were the noise from the dining room (easily muffled with basic earplugs) and a nasty smell coming from the floor drain in the bathroom (easily blocked with a paperback book).

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor are a bit noisy before 11:00 pm as they are over the dining room.

STAY AWAY!!!! Have you ever been beaten by bugs and fleas; Ιf you want to share the experience of having over a thousand stings all over your body and having to be treated with cortizon for a week when you return to your country don't miss the opportunity of staying in one of the first 3 floors of Emin hotel. The 4 floor is for the time being bug-free.
Hurry up though since I know how long it will take bugs and fleas to ascend the floor. See the photo attached.

We stayed at the Emin hotel for five nights and had a very positive experience there. It's nothing fancy, but it was priced very reasonably and the location (near Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, and Blue Mosque) can't be beat. A nice spread of cheeses, vegetables, cereal and yogurt was supplied every morning for breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. They only clean your room if you ask and leave your key, which I actually liked. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: The single rooms have a tiny twin bed (my sister stayed in one and was comfortable). Try to get a ro...
