Had a 1 night at Hotel Monopol, the hotel is value for money, in the sense it has a bed, Internet and in the heart of the city of Istanbul. So for what I paid for, it was ok. The breakfast, is really not worth eating,so a cup of coffee and then that's it. But just outside the doorsteps there are other choices.

its a small hotel with an excellent location. 2 minutes from istiklal st. and seconds away from a metro station. Our room was clean. But breakfast was limited, afterall you get what you pay for... Bonus is that most of the staff talks arabic. late on weekends, the sounds are a bit high outside the room but I dont think it was much of a problem for me.

I stayed 5 nights in a dark run-down room with a window to a mini-courtyard with 1 meter to the next wall, at least no noise. The room was spacey but the carpet old, the sink was broken. Most importantly, the air conditioning worked, wifi so-so. Breakfast is Turkish only, vegetables and cheeses. Front staff uninformed and unhelpful. Stay away if you plan to spend any time in the hotel itself.

I think this is a good hotel for people who want to go and have fun in Istanbul. It has a great location in Taksnim, like 1 minute walk from Istiklal street, where a lot of young people go out, and you can find a lot of restaurants to eat and do some shopping as well.

The hotel's restaurant was not good, I only had breakfast there, but it was pretty poor. If you are a vegetarian or you like to eat muesli for breakfast - you won't find anything to eat here.

A Very good location ( Metro, Tunnel & bus stop ) - 2 mins to Istiklal st. , Breakfast is bad!, Rooms are fine if u are seeking a place to just sleep in (AC, hair dryer, Tv & Wifi) , I dont recommend it for Families or couples, Just if u r in a single trip or with a group of friends

Good location ! only 5 minutes away from the Istiklal street which is the most beautiful pedestrian zone of Istanbul.Friendly staff, always at your service...It is a good side of Monopol hotel.
But nighttime noise, dirty bathroom, bad food for breakfast is the bad side!
I even had to ask for another room !I could not sleep because of loud music from the nightclub which is right next to the hotel.
If you come to Istanbul to enjoy the nightlife and you dont want to have breakfast in hotel ,this hotel is not so bad choice for you.

hotel overpriced 70 Euro for very basic rooms
.Went with three other people and all of us had to change rooms due to them being dirty, holes in washbasins, shower with sticking plasters on the doors and windows facing fire escapes .
We were moved to rooms with good views but they still needed updating.
Bar in reception only served non acholic drinks.
Breakfast was okay with a good variety of items.
Next time l would look at a smaller boutique hotel
It did not spoil my visit as Istanbul was lovely very hilly with great views.

Room Tip: Always ask to be moved if not happy on arrival.
