First of all:
The position of the marking for "Berce" Hotel on google maps is wrong and about 4-500 meters too far West. Look for the Mustafa Pasa Sk, which is the real location of Berce. As "Berce" is in addition a very small hotel, people on the street do not know this place and we ended up wandering around in the old city for about 1 - 1,5 hrs, pulling the trolley behind us.... Try to avoid this experience.

The hotel itself is one of the best deals for the money around. The staff is very very very helpfull and the athmosphere is familiar.

Please keep in mind and be fair when rating that you are in a 3-star hotel. To us it overaccomplished the expectations of such a rating. It was wonderfull.

The Internet worked perfect and fast.

The breakfast was good and the buffet got replenished until the last guest was done. It had about 20 choices of the usual turkish breakfast. We felt this is very nice and more then what should be expected, as the hotel has only about 6 rooms.

For people who have problems sleeping in a not fully dark room, it might be advisable to bring a sleeping cover. The rooms are lighted from the streetlights at night.

At 5 a.m. the Muezzin calls for prayer. You shall not blame the hotel for it.

The hotel location is splendid, with a vast view over Bosporus from the terasse and only a 10 minute hike from Hagia Sophia etc.

Going back home from Istanbul, we made use of their airport transfer and it was perfect, punctual, fast and comfortable. Should have done it as well when arriving!

To us, this hotel appeared like a gem, which has to be memorized for future stays in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Be Aware: Google Maps does not show the right location of the hotel!

We felt very much at home staying in this hotel. The room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. The area was very quiet with no traffic noise. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very tasty and substantial and it was delightful to look out from the dining area on the old rooftops and watch the seagulls build their nests and ships go by in the distance. We felt safe in the area and the main visitor sites, restaurants and metro stop were all within a short walking distance.

We stayed at this hotel following a friend's recommendation. The staff were superb and the quality of the rooms very high. It is well located in Sultanhamet, walking distance to all of the main attractions. The owner takes personal interest in looking after his guests and made us feel very welcome.

This hotel has a good location in Old City Istanbul. The rooms are good with average decor, but they are clean and have nice bathrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is steps from nice restaurants and two clocks from the Blue Mosque.

Room Tip: do not choose a basement room, it is dark.

How fortunate we were to be staying at the Berce for a long weekend when it rained for the entire four days of our stay. Our first visit to Istanbul but will certainly not be the last either to the city or the hotel. The atmosphere was charming, staff welcoming and helpful and the rooms warm and comfortable. It was wonderful to come back to after drenching sight seeing excursions and a big compensation for the disappointing weather.
This small and friendly hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the old town and walking distance from all the sights of Sultanahmet. Don't miss the Arasta Bazaar very nearby and with wonderful small shops full of lovely things - a gem.
