“A local tradition”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

We were taken here by a local, and it is obvious that the place is very popular with the locals. Inexpensive traditional food is very good.

“Lunch break in the river of people on Istiklal Kad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Stoped for quick lunch here. There were protests on Taksim square and river of demonstrants going up and down Istiklal street. We felt part of it almost, sitting in this restaurant as it is almost blending with the outdoor street space... Food was ok, we had salad and pasta only so cant comment the rest. Price was also reasonable. The restaurants hidden in the smaller side streets of Istiklal are more charming but this one is also good....

“Best kofte in Istanbul!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

Probably the only place in Sulthanamet where you can find also Turkish people eating there, so this is definitely a good sign. It has always been super popular, so prepare to queue a little bit, but it is worth it and waiters are very efficient, they will find you a table in a few minutes. The menu is very limited: I would recommend to try the kofte with rice, they are special and, above all, quite cheap. The place is very basic, expect to be seated very close to other people, but this is also a particularity of this restaurant.

“Fun, Quick Kofte”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Okay, so the first thing you have to do is make sure you're in the koftecisi up the street from the pudding shop, not down the street from the pudding shop. But once you're in this neighborhood gem, you'll savor the kofte (beef meatballs) and the corba (lentil soup). The service is rapid and unpretentious and the prices are just right for a quick nibble. Right off the tram stop in Sultanahmet. A treat,

“Dont miss this”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

Dont ever miss eating at this casual dining place. Their Kebabs and the Koftas are one of the most tastiest, juiciest that I have eaten. The service is excellent, fast and quick. The Chicken was also very juicy and soft and of course tastier
