Very pleasant service and quite quiet location. Basic yet all I needed for my stay. The room was a fair size and the linen was very clean and nice. Refreshments were good and the fridge was stocked well. Good provision of extra pillows and little noise from neighbouring rooms. The toilet and bathroom was small but reasonably clean and the towels were reasonably clean and many in number. Izmir on reception was most helpful and willing to assist with queries. The restaurant was cheap and food of a fairly average standard but I would advise eating elsewhere in the locality. Located in a back alley and with many other restaurants and shops the hotel area had a good atmosphere at night. Not sure I would go back but decent for a four night stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in August and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The rooms while quite small are clean and fresh. The beds are pretty comfortable and the rooms have a french door that can be opened to allow fresh air to come in. The rooms are all air conditioned and these only run when the key is in the slot on the wall so of course energy is not wasted while you are out. The rooms are equipped with robes, slippers, iron board, mini bar, cable TV, toiletries and nice furniture. We found the staff extremely helpful and very prompt to bring us an extra sheets, towel or attend to the TV not working..Could not fault them. The hotel is a boutique hotel with only about 32 rooms so a very personal service. The breakfast is amazingly good. Sure it is not a 'western' breakfast so you wont find cooked eggs and bacon here or pancakes or muffins but what you do find is very delicious turkish food (you are in Turkey!) which we just loved. There is a wide range of fruit, boiled eggs and yes they do have cereals and toast. The location I think is the biggest plus. It is a very quiet street which is almost unheard of in Istanbul. There are numerous great cafes and shops in the street and handy to local shops to get bottles of cold water which is a must have in Istanbul and you simply cannot drink the water, not even to rinse your mouth when brushing your teeth so this is really handy. Also the major attractions are really close as is the tram and the ferry over to Asia. I could not fault this place. Just a suggestion when you are looking to book, which some people overlook, that you need to make it very clear in your booking when you want a twin or a double as the hotel being small do not have many twins and so cannot accommodate this at short notice.

Room tip: ust a suggestion when you are looking to book, which some people overlook, that you need to make it very clear in your booking when you want a twin or a double as the hotel being small do not have many twins and so cannot accommodate this at short notice.

Gulhane Park hotel is a well kept, comfortable hotel located within walking distance of the main attractions (Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc) and also necessities such as currency exchange, supermarkets etc.

The breakfast buffet provided has a wide variety of hot and cold foods to choose from and the taste is great :D

The staff are very welcoming and helpful and no matter what time of day or night they will be ready to help with whatever you require.
