My husband thought I was a genius for finding such a great hotel for such a reasonable price. The decor is lovely...elegant, but not overdone. The bathroom was a decent size with very nice fixtures, etc. The staff was very helpful and knowledgable, and seemed genuinely interested in our enjoyment of the city. We had a room on the first floor just off the lobby. I thought at first this would be weird, but once we went on and closed the door, it was easy to forget how close the lobby was. The view out the window isn't great...back alley and railroad tracks, but you can't have everything! (The breakfast buffet was just adequate, but when you're used to breakfast buffets laden with biscuits and gravy and crispy bacon, anything else just doesn't cut it.)

Hotel location was wonderful, it is next to Blue mosque, where is all activities is...a lot of nice restaurants....GrandBazar is 5 Min walks from the hotel.
Room is very clean and soo calm, breakfast in terrace is amazing while you have a nice view to the sea.. hotel stuff is welcoming you any time....and they offered help when it is needed..even if you are not speaking Turkish language..they used to speak with taxi drivers.

Their rooftop terrace has a phenomenal view of the Blue Mosque and Golden Horn, and the service there is top notch. We would go there for drinks before dinner and they would keep bringing us complimentary appetizers! Our favorite bar in Istanbul. Did not stay in the hotel but it also looked very nice and impeccably clean.

This was my second time staying at the Ferman Hotel. The Ferman is luscious, authentic (but modern), CLEAN, romantic and beautiful. A year ago when I decided to travel to Istanbul for the first time, I looked at and compared 43 different hotels. In the end we decided on the Ferman. AND, we could not have been luckier. The Ferman is right smack in the center of the 'Old Town' (which in my opinion is the ONLY place to stay in Istanbul)...Just around the corner from EVERYTHING (restaurants, Blue Mosque, Spice Market, etc...). Our top level King Suite faced the Blue Mosque, and WOW...it could not have been more beautiful if we designed the view ourselves.

Even before we arrived in Istanbul we emailed SEVERAL questions and requests to the hotel. Everything, and I mean everything we asked, was arranged for us. We were picked up from the airport by a kind, safe driver. When we checked into the hotel the staff treated us as if we were returning home from a long trip. Erhan the Front Desk Manager is amazing!!! As we were often out late at night (and we were two women), he personally made restaurant reservations for us and guided us to and from places in the Old Town. In a nutshell, you could not make a better choice. While in Istanbul, we checked out many of the other hotels we considered. In the end, nothing could hold a candle to the overall comfort, beauty, service, and location of the Ferman Hotel.

Treat yourself. You will not be sorry.

Kim Jackson

We always felt safe and looked after. Also, if you want to go rug shopping you must go to the Fairtrade Gallery. It was recommended to us by the Ferman staff and was by far the best experience we had in rug shopping.

This would have been a highly rated hotel if Laterooms had advertised it as 3* but it was rated as 5*, hence a disappointment. I will be very wary of laterooms ratings next time. Staff service was great and room was fine but would have been better with bedside table on both sides instead of 1. Breakfast was really poor quality food. Only 1 member of staff to manage the whole breakfast setup, fantastic guy but needed 2 more people, so lots of time on both days waiting for clean glasses and cups or for coffee machine refill. Food was dry and had birds constantly landing on the bread board. Fruit juice was unpleasant, dulited cordial. Wifi was so weak even google home page took 2 minutes to load (signal in room was dodgy on 1st floor but even using it by reception it was too slow to bother, morning and evening) - pointless to advertise you have Wifi. Reception staff agreed slow speed was normal. Good location near central attractions, quiet street and a lovely little boutique hotel but rating should have been 3* - even though it seems there are some very grand 5* suites within the hotel, these are not the ones allocated to laterooms customers.

Room Tip: Contact the hotel first to organise a specific room or check if possible on laterooms rate

"The Hotel was very comfortable with very friendly staff. Great selection of breakfast. Breathtaking view from roof top terrace. One side is the Marmara Sea, the other one is the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We strongly recommend this beautiful Boutique Hotel in the middle of the Sultan Ahmet district. This Hotel is a good value for money.”

You will love every moment of your stay here. The staff is very friendly. Especially, Erhan Adem Topaloğlu. He is a very good person and works very hard. Erhan will give you great advice about the city. He can also point you in the right direction for some great shopping.

I also love taking pictures. This hotel has some of the most beautiful views. You will love your pictures!
