“Great hotel and located exactly where you want to be!”

This was a very wonderful experience and the Armagrandi Spina will be my go-to recommendation for all friends and colleagues visiting Istanbul! It is very close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Ayasofya Hamam, Tokpapi Palace, the metro, Grand Bazaar, and much more! You simply must go up and enjoy the roof balcony, particularly when the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia are giving the call to prayer! Amazing!

We booked this hotel through BA which advertised it as a 4star hotel. It's definitely not 4 star, but it's a clean, comfy place to rest your head. And the location is incredible (1 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and a few more to Topaki Palace and the Grand Bazzar).

The staff were very friendly, and helpful (our toilet broke and they were quick to repair it) and the rooftop terrace had an incredible view. The bar wasn't open as it was low season, but you could head up at any time.

One thing I did notice is that the room was very warm, we went in mid January and still slept with the window open, I can't imagine how hot it is in summer. There was air con, but it didn't seem to do much.

Finally, the worst part of the hotel? The awful, awful breakfast. I would skip all together and just buy from elsewhere.

Overall a pleasant stay. It's not a hotel you would spend much time in, but it's a pleasant place to sleep and regroup.

Its a nice 3 Star Hotel in heart of Sultanahmet District, just between Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Rooms are well furnished and well serviced.

The staff was friendly and cooperative specially Mr. Kadir, Mr. Mustafa and the lady at reception (forgot her name)

Breakfast was average and can be improved.

Room Tip: Its a bit expensive hotel due to its location. So you have to be rich like me ;-)

I stayed here in December 13' and was impressed at the location and value for money.

You are literally seconds from the big tourist sites and if you want central (and don't mind the regular LOUD calls to prayer) this is perfect.

Some tips!
The hotel do well priced transfers to and fro the airport. It's tricky to find and there are plenty of thieving cabbies so this is a great option

The rooftop bar is closed at the weekend. A few doors down is the 7 hills restaurant which has an EPIC view (and nice food)

Some of the tourist shops around the hotel actually are cheaper than the markets and you don't need to haggle

It's a bit noisy (city centre location) so ask for a room higher up the building and be prepared for the pre dawn call to prayer with ear plugs.

Room Tip: The higher up the hotel the quieter it is

The Armagrandi Spina in Istanbul is classed as a 4 star hotel under the British Airways city break holidays. It is wonderfully situated - a 4 min walk to, and right between the Agya Sofya and the Blue Mosque, and a stone's throw from the Topkapi Palace; the tram stop (SultanAhmet) is also very nearby. The staff are friendly and the place clean. Rooms are not large but quite adequate and very comfortable. It has a welcoming and warm feel. I recommend it highly for those reasons. However, a 4-star rating is too high! A few details: bathroom is small and has the basic facilities - so, not of 4-star standard; shampoo is not replaced - and no shower gel but two small pieces of cheap soap; there is a kettle and a couple of coffee sachets and tea bags - which are not replaced (only as a welcome gesture) - I joked with the reception that one has just the one sachet whether one stays a day or 20 days at the hotel. Breakfast is adequate, with good coffee and a large choice of herbal teas. Fruit salad was available the first day, and after, it was not on offer (strangely inconsistent). These are small points - but which, no doubt, will add to the comfort of one's stay without too much extra cost to the hotel. There is complimentary tea served in the afternoon - a lovely touch, though I suspect, most visitors would be out and about during the day sightseeing. If the hotel advertises itself to be 3-star, then I would not even mention most of the above, and still recommend it highly.

We stayed here from the 11th to the 14th of December.
Fantastic location, great value for money(through B.A)but the hotel is very dated.
Breakfast just ok,but enough to get by.
Perfect if you just want a bed and a shower.

Booked through BA Holidays and used Trip Advisor for reviews.
Nice boutique style entrance to hotel - check-in simple and fast. Was given a room with my mate in an annex connected to the hotel, so had to walk outdoors and up steps to get to room. Room was reasonable. A couple of dodgy looking stains on the outer bed cover which should have been removed by housekeeping. TV had very poor picture (had to play with aerial connection) however was not really there to watch tv! Hotel offered free wifi, however connection was very poor.
Breakfast day 1 - scrambled eggs cold - breakfast day 2 scrambled eggs freezing! Staff bemused that I asked for them to be heated in microwave!!! Apart from above the hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff were friendly and for the price paid extremely good value for money. The location of the hotel makes it a must as you are next door to the Blue Mosque (but be prepared the call to prayer woke us up at 06:15!!) Would have awarded a higher mark were it not for these little niggly problems. I have read some reviews which mention poor staff - this was certainly not the case with us. Overall a good hotel but a little rough around the edges.
