Stayed in Antique Hostel for 3 nights in July, 2012. I'm 30ish, from the US, and like to stay in hostels when I'm on long trips to keep the costs down. Been doing this type of traveling for 10+ years so I do have points of comparison for hostels. (Side note: hate those reviews of hostels from people expecting 4-star hotels...)

Stayed in a room for 3 people and overall, I thought it was a very good place to stay and I'd go back.

The front desk guys were all helpful with tours and directions and just general to-do's. The bar up top wasn't crowded/ popular during our visit but nice to grab a beer in the evening nonetheless. The best view in Sultanahmet is definitely at the Seven Hills bar about a block away but you pay for that view with a $8 beer (still not THAT bad).

It's conveniently located in the quiet, narrow streets 2-3 blocks behind the Blue Mosque and a block away from the Four Seasons. So you know you're in a good, safe area. However, note that this area is DEAD at night starting around 10 PM. You can get a drink but you'll be with just your group of people, which isn't all that bad after a heavy day of touring the sites.

The Sultanamet tram stop is about 2-3 blocks away which is walkable with rollies, which we had.

As for the room: good & clean. Bed was about a Holiday Inn quality, perhaps a bit less. We booked the private, 3-person room and it was pretty big with nice big windows and a good A/C. The bathroom was fine for me, but it was a bit odd: the shower didn't have any walls and was just the removable showerhead. If you weren't careful, you could get the toilet and sink all wet.

nevertheless, like I said: the place was a "very good hostel" and I'd go back.

The main person at reception was sort of helpful but he wasn't too clear when giving directions. The hostel is so close to restaurants and the blue mosque. The grand bazaar is walking distance and the tram line is about a 5-10 minute walk. Breakfast is pretty basic but do-able. When I come back I would definitely stay here again.

This hostel gas a very good location because it´s near from a lot of turistic places to visit (Blue Mosque, Haya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, Cermelitas Baths, etc..). They have 3 shared rooms with 6 beds anda a locker to each person. The cleaning service at rooms and bathrooms it s ok. The hostel has a terrace with a great view to the Marmara sea, and you can go there and stay at any hour. Breakfast ist served one floor down with the same view and that place it s a bar at night. Breakfast es very good and with tipical turkish food. The neighborhood is very intresting, full of shops, cafes, bars and restaurantes. It´s also near a big avenue where you cant take the tram. The staff that works at the hostel are very kind, friendly ando helpful. The price is very good considering the quality of the place.

This hotel located in an ideal place to discover the historic areas of Istanbul. The hostel has rooftop bar where you can see a good view of the sea, also breakfast is served. The entire hostel is very relaxed and staff are also nice and friendly. Wifi is free and stable. Souveniours, carpet shops, mini shop, cafes, bars and restaurant are all neighbours - yes, the location is excellent. Just to make sure bring a map to get the place from the tram station for the first time, not very easy to find the hostel.

it is in the heart of old İstanbul ( Sultanahmet ), it has a few rooms for people that like to have their own space and it also has dorms for young people that like to travel on budget. it is very clean. receptions are helpful and friendly. breakfast is served on the terrace where there is a nice little restaurant with great sea view. the place is a few steps a way from Saint Sophia Museum and Blue Mosque. it is great little place to stay and make sure you go and spend sometimes on their wonderful terrace.

Very good located, walking distance from all main attractions. We had a double room, that was quite good. Only the toilet was really small, but was very ok if you are not looking for much comfort, I think the price worths the place and we could hear the other rooms, depend of the time was difficult to sleep. But not so critical. Rooms are clean, reasonable breakfeast, I would stay there again.
