Pros:
- good location

Cons:
- filthy bathrooms where the shower water got EVERYWHERE (no curtains), doors didn't lock
- Staff were not very helpful when asked questions/recommendations/etc. They didn't go out of their way (like people in other places in Istanbul and Turkey) to give you the best experience. Not helpful at all.
- Breakfast was not included for the dorms (it was an addition 3TL. In other places it was included in the cost and still ended up being less than paid for here!)

When we came back to Istanbul we went to another hostel instead and got the most amazing reception ever! I'd recommend not going to Paris hostel.

I must say that my stay at Paris Hotel is a little biased by the friendliness of the manager, who gave us a very nice room at the top of the building with an amazing view to the Sea of Marmara on request, for we asked "We'd like a room with nice views" in the reservation form.
Also, he even let us use his work computer to book some flights from Antalya to Istanbul for free.
So, yes, the room was small, cozy I'd say, and it had not the best price-quality ratio, but the views were amazing and the staff very kind, so I must give this place a positive result, for our experience was very good.
I also loved the location of this hotel, in a small, enigmatic, back alley filled with cats very close to the center.

I stayed during peak season in the west of the city and this was the cheapest option. The room was clean enough and the staff were great. The location is very, very good (being off the main roads but just a five minute walk from the Blue Mosque and from the nearest tram stop). There is a cafe directly across the road that is better value than eating in the hostel. The owner speaks good English and the prices are low.

If you are staying on the European side of the city and don't mind basic facilities, this place is fine. My strongest recommendation would be to stay on the Asian side of the city. It's much cleaner, much cheaper and much less touristy than the European side. It's also cheap and easy to have day trips to the European side (using the boats and tram) to see the tourist sites.

Don't be fooled by the nice pictures, you would be safer sleeping in a bin rather than this hotel. The air conditioning unit drains on to the balcony thus covering the entire balcony in mould. The shower didn't work and when we finally managed to get a small trickle of water out of it. It was a brown colour and smelt of stagnant water. The staff were extremely unhelpful and were very grumpy and spoke no English whatsoever. The best part about this hotel was leaving.

A basic hostel, but it's clean and the beds are comfortable which is the most important thing. It's easy to socialise with other guests here, which is always a plus too. The price and location is very good.

We stayed here in a double private room for two nights. While the rooms are very tiny, there is pretty much only room for the bed and room to walk on to the deck, they were awesome value for money.

Very centrally located to many big attractions and many great food places.

We stayed on 6th floor. Was awesome view but no lift so you have a lot of stairs to climb.

Breakfast is fairly simple bit plenty of it and keeps you going for the day!

Spent 6 nights here. At first I was kind of depressed, because it is VERY basic. No storage space in the bathroom, no hairdryer, and no shower walls. But it was clean and conveniently located in the old town.

Plenty to eat for breakfast, and reception desk open 24x7. They even arranged a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. Still trying to figure out if they ripped us off for the shuttle, but I guess it was worth the convenience. And they changed the sheets and towels every other day.

All-in-all, a pretty good deal for what we paid. (EUR 260 for 6 nights in a double room.)
