Anatolia Suites
Ranked #732 of 1,175 Hotels in Istanbul
Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

We have visited Istanbul on 23-28 of February 2013. There were 5 of us, so we reserved two rooms in this hotel: suite for 3 adults and double room with sea wiev. I stayed in suite and was absolutely satisfied by this room. It was good and clean. Double room of our friends was ok, but looked a bit shabby, and rather small. On the photos this room looks bigger.
Among other advantages of Anatolia suites are location (just near Sultanahmet) and very friendly personnel.
I can recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Thank Evgeniy-Kiev

Hi Evgeniy-Kiev,

Thank you very much for your feedback/comments. Yes, the top floor double room compared to the 1-bedroom suites, it is also very budget friendly for this reason. Either way, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for endorsing Anatolia Suites to other travelers.

Best Regards,
Anatolia Suites

Selim, the lady form the reception is a professional person, honest and very helpful.

She retuned my family’s necklace which has been lost in our room.

I especially appreciate the information and the advices she has provided. Her assistance has been invaluable to me during our visit.

I am giving my thanks for her kindness.

I decided to stay here after considering several options. It is a very good hotel for 2+ people up to a whole family in one room. (apart hotel)

It cost me 75 Euros for two singles staying in the same room. So my father stayed always in a room with couple bed, lcd tv, safe and air split; while I stayed in "living room" where there is a conveniently positioned single bed, lcd tv, air split a sofa or table. There is a kitchen that might save you some money as you can prepare your breakfast, because there is an oven, fridge and a whole set of pans, dishes, etc.

Bathroom is big with hair dryer, bathtub, shower and regular mobilia.
I stayed at three different rooms: Pamukkale, Nemrut and Aspendos and loved them all.

The only problem for me are the stairs, but this hotel's staff is polite and helpful for carrying your luggage. Night staff is week on english language, but helpful.
There is no rooftop breakfast, that is not available from September 2012 onward.

There are lots of restaurants nearby. Buy water and food in one of the overnight small markets one block away from Anatolia Suites.
Also there is a laundry facility right in front of Anatolia Suites. Just wash it there and ask an iron back at Anatolia suites.
Transportation is managed by them through taxis, private transfer(25 euro) or common transfers (6 euro).

Anatolia Suites runs a tourism agency, so they might try to sell you some activities. I didn't try them though.

Room Tip: Just think how high you want to stay because there is no difference on room quality.

Hi AlexandreBorges,

Thank you for the detailed review of Anatolia Suites that you have provided. You have not left much for us to add!
You have addressed a very good point about the stairs and I would like to let you know that we have made plans to add an elevator to the property to alleviate this obstacle for future guests.

We hope to see you back at Anatolia Suites for your next trip to Istanbul!

We booked a week in this hotel and asked for a seaview room if possible; breakfast was to be included. The pictures of the rooms and lobby looked fine and the location was good. However, when we got confirmation breakfast was not included and upon further investigation we kept being switched between Anatolia Suites and St Sophia Hotel which was in another location. Even the pictures were the same for the 2 sites! E-mails were not responded and we were left confused but hopeful that all would work out.
As it turned out we were in the Anatolia suites, no breakfast and a rather minimal suite. There are 105 steps to walk up to the "seaview" site but they will bring up your suitcases. However the location is perfect :close to most of the major tourist sites, Blue Mosque Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar, Hippodrome, musems etc. The staff very helpful and they know there is a problem with the bookings.
These two hotels , which are related, need to sort out what is what and not show the same information for both when in reality they are different and in quite different locations,
Andrea

Hi AndreaAustin,

Thank you for taking the time to review the property. We certainly appreciate the feedback you've provided regarding the inconvenience you've experienced with the reservation.
We have completely separated the two properties since and no longer accept reservations to both places.
We have also made plans to add an elevator to the property in the near future during the down season based on the feedback we've received from reviewers like yourselves.
Once again, your feedback is greatly appreciated and we hope to have taken the necessary measures to prevent the confusion from happening again.

Hope to see you back in Istanbul for your next stay!

Best Regards,
Anatolia Suites

My sister and I stayed here in a room at the top with a little verandah which gave us a view of the Blue Mosque.
The staff could not be more helpful. The situation of the appartment was perfect. We had a safe in ou room so valuables were fine. We walked everywhere.
The decor was a little dated and the fridge was tiny and needed an upgrade, but as we were out most of the time, it was not a great problem.
We managed to get to the 4th floor without a lift.

Room Tip: The room at the top has a great view Have not seen the others

Dear Madegan,

Thank you for taking the time to review Anatolia Suites. Also, thank you for pointing out the decor and the need for a better fridge. We will be going through a renovation during the low season this year and hope to update the decor along with the appliances.
We also have plans to add an elevator to the property.
Hopefully, your stay at Anatolia Suites was pleasant enough for you to choose us for your next trip to Istanbul!

We stayed at Anatolia Suites for 3 days and Istanbul was our first stop. The location of the hotel is fabulous. Its bang inside Sultanahment and a 5 minute walk from Aya Sofiya, Blue Mosque and the tram station. The other main destinations are easily accessible from the tram - Sulemaniye, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Taksim square etc. The hotel also provided us a free pick up from the Ataturk Airport and arranged for a drop to the Sabiha Gocken at a reasonable 10 EUR per person.

The rooms were also well appointed with clean sheets and bathrooms. We however found them smaller than they appeared in the pictures (not quite 'suite' like) and with the beds in the living room there was not much place to walk around. The breakfast is a simple turkish fare but also includes cereals, juices etc for the less adventurous. We did not get an opportunity to try the room service but there are dozens of options in Sultanahmet so food will not be a problem (coming from a vegetarian this should mean a lot!).

The only disappointment was that a bunch of our cash went missing during our stay there and though we're not sure if it was the hotel but would like to warn all to keep a watch on their valuables even in seemingly 'upscale' places. Also at EUR 150 per night the place seemed quite expensive compared to the places my other friends visiting Istanbul stayed in.

Hi ASTRONUT160,

First of all I would like to personally apologize for taking so long to respond to your feedback. We certainly appreciate the detailed/unbiased review you've provided.
We have gone through staff change and taken the necessary measures to ensure that valuables never ever go missing again.
I believe you were staying with us during the high season in Istanbul, which is usually an expensive period of time and also, Anatolia Suites are priced slightly higher than your usual hotel room stays as it offers 1 bedroom set up along with a kitchenette.
I would like to make it up to you & your friends during your next trip to Istanbul, so please do contact us before your next visit.

many thanks,
Anatolia Suites

Speak to Metin the manager he speaks english well and is very helpful, i stood at the cappadocia flat,a living room, turkish bath, balcony, kitchen and a bed room.
They were very clean and comfortable the only two problems were that there is no lift to get you to the terrace were the breakfast is served and ants kept finding their way in the living room sometimes but apart from that everything is great in there.

Room Tip: Have a look at all the suites but i prefer the one with the turkish bath!
