My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Witt Suites! The Witt is in the most ideal location in Istanbul - it's in Cihangir, part of the Beyoglu district. The area is filled with bars, cafes, restaurants.. it's in walking distance to Taksim Square, Istiklal Street, Kadikoy, and you can easily walk the Galata Bridge to the Old City. If you're not up for the walk, you can pay 3 TL and hop on the tram right down the street.
Breakfast was delicious every day - you can eat in the lobby or they deliver to your room. They have the usual Turkish breakfast spread of breads, olives, vegetables, cheesees, honey, and made to order eggs (any style). The front desk, Volkan, in particular was extremely helpful. Volkan was an excellent resource for local recommendations. Whether it was making a reservation for dinner, advising which hamam to book, which neighborhoods to explore, or even just genuinely interested in hearing about our day, he provided stellar service all around.
Rooms - spotless, extremely clean, has pretty much a full kitchen where you can enjoy your locally bought treats at anytime - (ie pickles, wine, cheese, doner, etc).
The Witt is the perfect hotel base for exploring Istanbul. It's clean, has a great location, excellent staff, and I would absolutely return on my next visit!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more less
