“Fantastic hotel in great location!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We just stayed at the Witt Suites in June 2013 for 4 nights and we were extremely satisfied with the hotel. It's a boutique hotel, but don't get fooled by that, the service and quality of the decor is exceptional. Suites are very spacious, we had a view of the mosques from the 3rd floor and I'm sure the views are even better from higher floors. Very meticulously decorated, modern and simple, yet cozy and comfortable. The staff went beyond our expectations and were always looking for ways to improve our stay. The location is great as well as you can walk the Beyoglu district, Galatta Tower and the shopping area near Taksim Square and take the tram to Sultanahmed, just 15 mins away. Great hotel and hope to come back soon, thanks for making our stay so special!

An oasis of calm and comfort. Great service from friendly staff, good location (steep walk up or down but great to be on a quiet street yet not far from much of what you've come to see). Fantastically comfortable beds, great breakfast, masses of space, good bathrooms. Will come again.

Room Tip: Believe all rooms are the same.

We had a lovely stay. Great staff, and outstanding accommodations.
The rooms are appointed with unique features. The s6 head showers were a hit with our family
Location provides easy walking access to Old Town, and City center

Room Tip: Rooms with terrace, more expensive but worth it

Beautiful interiors - uniquely Autobahn, be ready for new quirkiness in a most pleasant and comfortable way. We are visually delighted, especially with the sizable bedroom and what's in it. Each angle provides a different charm - it has that thematic design "perforated circles" on the walls and wardrobe doors. The king size bed is firm and has good support - has "wings" at the sides, reminds one of business class seats.

The reception cum lobby is rather small, nevertheless it's the people behind the counter that matters - and they are warm and friendly, willing to assist in any way they can. The breakfast area along a stretch of wall and windows, overlooks a dowdy apartment block - no view. Daily breakfast provided is more than adequate ie not overwhelming. Freshly squeezed orange juice and cherry juice. The egg omelette with olive, tomato and turkey ham is "umami" good!

There is no dining facilities therefore every night we have to go out to restaurants around the neighborhood. It is a small challenge for those who don't like to walk up slopes. We had to walk about 350-500m, not that far but it's the slope that was daunting, the first night. But by second night, it was not a problem, got used to it. I would not let this uphill walk, discourage me from coming back. Beware that the roads are narrow and the vehicles come and pass close. Many times we paused and let the taxis pass.
Reception is able to recommend the nearby food places. Must go to Savoy Balik for seafood, try their whole turbot, not inexpensive but worth trying. Have it the Turkish way served as fried filets, to be eaten with your fingers.
Getting to the historical part of Istanbul can be easily done by taxi or take the tram which is 2-5 min walk downslope.
Truly, Witt is a delightful and charming boutique hotel.

I had a lovely 3 night stay here in May 2013. While pricey, the rooms are HUGE, and mine had an incredible view of the city, including sights in Old Town Istanbul. The walk down to/back up from the nearest tram stop is quite steep, but if you're in average health, shouldn't be a problem. The breakfast was delicious and offered for quite a long time, making it easy to have an early or leisurely morning. The neighborhood is less touristy than staying in the heart of Sultanahmet, which I preferred. However, if you want to be right next to the main tourist attractions, know that it will take about 20 minutes to get there from the Witt.

Friendly staff, large rooms, great location! Few minutes from the T1 tram which links to the Old town and Istanbul highlights. 15 minute walk toTaksim square and shopping district on Istikal Street. Front desk was very helpful with information, reservations and recommendations. Very clean. The steep uphill walk from the tram station was a drag at the end of a long day of sightseeing, but was good exercise! If I ever come back to Istanbul, I would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: I was in Room 53, standard king room, with a partial (but lovely) view of the strait without the upg...
