“A Must Stay in Istanbul...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2012

I decided to celebrate my 40th b-day with a few girlfriends in Istanbul and chose this hotel based on the rave reviews on Trip Advisor. These reviews were RIGHT ON!

LOCATION:
In a cute neighborhood within walking distance to Beyoglu and Taksim Square, and you can even walk over to Eminonou (where you get the ferry and location of the Spice Market), Sirkeci and Sultanahmet on a nice day. Ortakoy was about a 30 min cab ride away (went to dinner at Chillai Restaurant and Reina Nightclub), but was not a bad ride. The surrounding area of the hotel has very cozy, bohemian type restaurants/cafes.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Excellent. We stayed in a corner Grand King Suite, and although it was on the first floor, we had an amazing view of the city. The suite was about 530 square feet, very large by hotel standards! The bed was a standard size King bed, and very comfortable! The kitchenette was awesome - fridge, microwave, coffee machine, glasses and flatware. Bathroom was amazing - had an adjustable shower head on the wall and several shower heads on the ceiling for an unbelievable shower experience. Wonderful Molton Brown body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, hand lotion and body cream. This room was truly our home away from home.

SERVICE:
Even in advance of our stay the hotel gave us amazing service. Arranging for car service to and from the airport made things so easy. Arranging a trusted private tour guide for us as well (which, by the way, is the only way to go if you want to hit as many landmarks as possible in a day, and they show you the great local restaurants/cafes as well as get you appointments at the best Turkish Bath House in Istanbul :)). We were warmly greeted by the staff upon arrival and a welcome drink and snacks were brought up to our suite. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and you could either have it in the lounge or order and have it brought up to your room for no extra charge. Most hotels nickel and dime you for everything - this hotel does not. I had mentioned to the front desk staff in passing that it was my birthday, and sure enough when we returned from our day tour, there was a beautiful birthday cake in our suite (that said happy birthday with my name spelled correctly which is huge since most people get the spelling of my name wrong) compliments of the hotel! We were there Easter weekend and they also placed delicious Easter cookies on our pillow. They were so incredibly helpful in arranging all our cab transportation and making our dinner reservations. Really, anything you wanted they would bend over backwards for you. Four Seasons service at a bargain price!!! I love, love, love this hotel and would not hesitate to go back.

Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights for a city trip with my girl friends. We are all experienced travellers, both for business ans pleasure, but we were all blown away by this lovely boutique hotel. Loved how this hotel was designed with eye for detail. The rooms are very spacious with a great shower/bathroom with products of Molton Brown. Staff is very service oriented and very helpful with instructing taxi drivers, restaurant reservations etc. Breakfast was great as well with fresh products, nice bread, yoghurt. All in all excellent option in European part of the city.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms we had, were similar in size and lay-out.

This hotel was a gem of a find! I am so pleased we stayed here. The rooms have a little kitchenette and living room area, which is lovely. The shower is amazing!
It was such a nice retreat from the craziness that is Istanbul.
The location is quite good, its in an area close to the main street Istiklal Caddessi, about a 10 minute walk (up hill), there is a tram stop not too far away, probably a 10 min walk also (downhill), the streets leading to the tram stop are a little treacherous though! Very steep and the road/footpaths are not at all maintained, obviously not the fault of the hotel, but I wouldn't want to be injured or elderly and have to walk up or down that hill very often!
I cannot not comment enough how brilliant the rooms and service is in this boutique hotel. The breakfast which is included in the room rate is fine, nothing to write home about, but its tasty enough and has enough variety.

Room Tip: The doors/windows are double glazed, so not noisy at all, maybe request something away from the lift...

Make sure that you book a room with panoramic-view - it is absolutely worth it! My room was on the sixt floor. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and functional. Rooms on sixt floor offers also a lovely terrace with two chairs and a table. The neighbourhood is quite (except for the prayers call (Adhan) which starts already at 5:30 AM) and also very safe. The hotel is perfectly well located, everything is in walking distance. The hotel offers a small breakfast-buffet. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The only negativ remark concerns the air-conditioning which did not work at all and also I am not really sure if the stated 40sqm are really stretch the truth. Anway I was really content with Witt Istanbul Suites and can recommend this hotel without any doubt!

My husband and me spent four days at this wonderful hotel and found it to be great place for a city break. The hotel is only 10 mins to main square and easy walking distance of many attractions and historic sites. The stuff was very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English and very willing to assist with recommendations for restaurants and clubs. Room on the top floor was magnificent with a beautiful view over Istanbul. We will come back again.

Upon arriving, our room had a bottle of wine, fruits and Brownies waiting for us since it happens to be our anniversary for free. We had a beautiful, partial view of the Bosporus and old city from the fifth floor.

We loved the fresh bakery and cheeses at breakfast and I absolutely loved the fresh squeezed orange juice, couldn't get enough of it.

The shower was amazing and the rooftop view of the city was just as impressive on a clear day.

The only cons I can write about this hotel is it's furnishings, although it was very classy and modern, the firm bed and couch wasn't in our comfort level (we're used to sleeping on pillow-top mattresses at home), but all the hotels we stayed in while in Turkey had the similar firm beds.

Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
