We missed our flight on the way out and phoned the hotel at 8pm Istanbul time letting them know. They were SO nice and told us they wouldn't charge us for the room for that night which they very easily could have done. The hotel's brilliantly paced. A very short walk to the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. The room was very clean and the shower was good. The staff could not have been nicer. The restaurant on the top floor has amazing views over Istanbul. All in all a great place to stay. Can thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed at the Adamar Hotel for 5 days in April. The front desk staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful at all times with great suggestions and explanations. They booked us a shuttle to the Sabiha Gochen airport and seats at a whirling dervish ceremony. They also told us exactly how to catch a boat ride up the Bosphorus. Their English was great, and they taught us some Turkish. The room and bathroom were clean and modern and comfortable. Adamar's location, only one long block from Haghia Sofia and the Blue Mosque, couldn't have been better. From the rooftop restaurant, we had a perfect view. The free breakfast buffet offered a lot of choices and the same view. As two women, we felt very safe.

It is a good hotel but imperfect in many ways - I am not sure if other reviewers do not get out much or it is the romance of Istanbul.
Great location - absolutely
Rooms adequate with the 5th floor offering good seaviews but with a trade off of restaurant noise. However, there is really only the bed so don't think you can sit and chill easily in your room..
The roof top terrace is marvellous for a meal (you pay for the view not the food) if not too cold - but even as guests, you cannot go up and enjoy the view with your duty free wine - you will be invited to go to your room and drink it - sitting on the bed because there are no chairs and only one cube seat!
The bathroom has been designed by someone who does not use cosmetics and the venetian blind should be replaced with frosted glass or film. No hooks so if you want to be environmentally friendly you will need to hang your towel in the cupboard or drape it somehow.- but it probably won't dry.
The suitcase stand was at the door and only takes a roll on. If you have large bags that you want to access you will be challenged.
Included breakfast is only ordinary but there are plenty of options outside - which we did after 3 days.
Staff are generally very helpful.
While the rooms have double glazing which is good for sound and warmth, the corridors are small so any loitering by other guests will wake you. There was a good deal of construction going on when we were there with cement trucks still unloading at 2am. Traffic noise starts early so it is not as if you will be able to sleep in.
For all that the Adamar would be good for a 2-3 day visit if you did not want to unpack.
Laundry is expensive.
Wifi is sporadic but there is a wired pc in the lobby which is FOC.
Airport greeting is useful and it is comforting to see your name on a sign as the airport is hectic.
I would probably recommend the Adamar for first time visitors to Istanbul who are staying only 2-3 days.

Room Tip: Go for the 5th floor - 502 but you trade off with the restaurant noise.

My friend and I have just returned from our stay in the Adamar Hotel, which we booked through Expedia. I cannot praise this hotel enough. The staff were professional and helpful and couldn't do enough for us.
Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean and the bathroom was excellent with lots of "extras" supplied. The weather was cold while we were there, so it was nice to come back to a welcoming warm room.
The restaurant had the most amazing panoramic views over the city and the food and service were so good that we ate there every night! The hotel is in an ideal position for the main sights, all of which are within easy walking distance.
A big Thankyou to Halil and all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. The standard of customer service was the best we have experienced. If we come back to beautiful Istanbul, we will definitely stay at the Adamar again.
