“Best possible view over Sultanahmet”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

No frills accommodation but the best possible view over Sultanahmet.
It was unforgettable for us to see Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace etc. in close-up right from our breakfast table. We also recommend to have dinner there at least once - the panorama at night is just breathtaking.
Very friendly staff, too! Thank you again for the unforgettable stay - we certainly intend to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Adamar. Close enough to the bustle of the Sultanahmet restaurant/sightseeing area to be convenient, but in a slightly quieter corner of the neighborhood. The big strengths here are the big breakfasts in the Panorama restaurant and the roof deck with amazing 360-degree views (with the Hagia Sofia right at your elbow). Our triple room was modern and comfortable, if none-too-large. Staff was courteous and professional. Our only complaint, really, was with the wifi. Our iPhones and iPad were continually thrown off the network, requiring us to log on again and again, sometimes every minute or so. It was maddening. But other than that, we loved this place and would return again.

We couldn't fault this amazing hotel situated only minutes away from the main sights. The views at breakfast over the Horn and the Bosphorus gave us a Christmas Day to remember, brilliant blue sky, sun and a skyline of magical minarets - all just breathtaking.
The hotel is well run, spotless and staffed by charming personel who go out of their way to be helpful. The only extra we would have appreciated would be a kettle in our room.
Near the hotel are a variety of cafes and restaurants where in true Turkish fashion you can be hassled a lot. Same too of the lovely shops which is a shame as we would have bought more had we been left in peace!
Watch the taxi drivers, most were ok but one rogue took us a very long way to the station.

Was traveling with my wife and two younger daughters, (ages 9 & 7), and this hotel provided a very comfortable stay for us with an amazing breakfast on its panoramic rooftop restaurant. The Hotel's location is also superb. It is a few blocks away from the major sites: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Cistern, Topkapi palace and the Grand Bazaar to name a few. This was great especially with young children. One day, we even walked from the hotel across the Galata bridge to the Galata tower for dinner. Lastly, I can't say enough about the spectacular view the Adamar hotel has from its roof top deck. The hotel also was excellent in arranging transportation for us from the airport to the hotel.

This hotel provides the ideal experience for travelers. They are phenomenally helpful, including adept at English. So, even though I practiced my Turkish before arrival, they had my back when I wasn't able to convey my wishes. The room was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding! Most of all, the centralized location makes this Istanbul jewel shine brighter than the others. We literally walked to all of the most highly recognized sights: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, The Cistern, The Bazaar, and the Archaeological Museum. The loveliest facet of this gem is its sapphire panoramic view of the city. You can sit under and azure star-lit ceiling, eating fresh, authentic Turkish food, while gazing at the glory of the great mosques and the Bosphorous. What a dream!!

A home away from home. 6 nights November 2012, a large corner room, very clean, and both air conditioning (once I learned about the snowflake symbol) and heat worked perfectly. I sleep like a rock, so noise doesn’t bother me. I feel that the room was well insulated compared to my tour group hotel in the Istanbul university area.
I chose this hotel because of reviews, recommendations and the 360 tour on their website. Also because the hotel is within walking distance to public transportation and all the major tourist sites; the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. The views from the top floor restaurant are better, in my opinion, than the 360 from the Galata Tower and Mosaic Hotel. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The reception and restaurant staff were also very attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Reception provided useful information on trips. Besides the corner rooms, the other rooms are modern and functional, though they are small – look at their website. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Due to Istanbul vagaries of the sewage system I would go for rooms on 3rd floor and up. The 5th flo...

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. The room was rather small, but clean and fresh. Breakfast was rather poor but still ok. The view from the restaurant was grandios. The beds were comfortable Location of the hotel is excellent. Close to Haga Sofia, Blue Mosque, The cistern, Grand Bazaar and Top Kapi palace. Also near to public transportations. And lots of restaurants nearby. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.
