We asked our travel agent to help us find a nice, small hotel (4 stars or better) on a street with shops and restaurants in a walkable negihborhood close to attractions. The Adamar fit the bill perfectly with the added bonus of a rooftop restaurant offering what have to be the best views in all of Istanbul.

Hotel staff members were courteous, personable and engaging -- just the right touch after days spent dodging rug vendors and jostling with tourists and locals in the dynamic and crowded streets and markets of old and new Istanbul.

The room was comfortable, modern and had its own milliondollar view of the harbor and the Galata Tower. Even the complimentary map was indispensable -- the best resource we found for navigating streets and transit systems.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent hotel conveniently situated within walking distance of most attractions. Friendly, helpful staff. One of the best rooftop views in Istanbul from the roof top restaurant. This was our second visit and the standard was the same. Ate breakfast and dinner there watching the sun set over the city. Magic

great hotel with excellent panoramic view restaurant by the day and the night---good room service, clean and neat----great staff and very helpful customer service. Rooms are nice and cozy, not very spacious but value for money and the best of all it is close to the major attractions of Sultanahmet and the local transit system. Overall a very pleasant and memorable stay.

We enjoyed our stay and will stay again. Rooms were modern.clean, comfortable, breakfast was a good choice continental included in price taken on roof top restaurant with brilliant views of Agyia Sophia and Blue Mosque - comfortable seating on roof too with bar service and same fabulous views.
Excellent welcome and service from Mehmet, who sat us down on arrival and showed us where to see everything in the city. He looked after us well on our stay too.
Booked on net and found basic room too small if you have suitcases! However, when we checked in, we were told this and were told we would move to better room next day - which was fabulous!! Next time we will book direct with hotel.
Very close walking distance to Blue Mosque, Agyia Sophia, Cistern and not too far from Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, harbour - all must-sees on your stay
Airport taxi couldn't find hotel - took 1.75 hours - phone ahead and ask hotel to supply one - same price but only 45 mins!!!

Room Tip: Find prioce on net, then phone hotel to book. Basic rooms are very small!

Great, central hotel within walking distance to all the sights Istanbul has to offer. Stunning view from the rooftop bar. Nice breakfast with good variety. There is an ongoing problem with the a/c in Room 105 (which we were given). The a/c needs repairs and a loud generator noise kicked in when it was the kids' bedtime. After several complaints that night and the following morning, the manager finally agreed for us to change rooms. They were not going to initially so we did have to persevere! We were moved to the family room on the 4th floor and that was absolutely fine.

Room Tip: Check that the a/c noise is fixed in Room 105 before accepting that particular room.
