“Boutique and very friendly”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

We stayed 3 nights at Best Point hotel and could not have found a better place to stay in Istanbul. When we first arrived we were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff. They insisted we sit in the foyer and rest, providing us with a glass of hot apple tea while they took our bags up to our room. Over more than 30 years of travel I have never had such a positive first impression. And our first impressions proved accurate as we were led up to our room on the second floor. It was well presented, very clean, a good size, and with a well appointed and modern bathroom. Breakfast on the roof terrace each morning was always a treat. The buffet offered a wide range of European and Asian foods, all well presented and very fresh. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the omelette were the stand outs. And the views over the blue mosque and harbour were breathtaking. The position is excellent - only a 10 minute casual stroll to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. But more than anything it is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff that make it such a special place to stay.

Great place for first timers in Istanbul. Close to major attractions, the staff was overwhelmingly courteous and helpful. Could be slightly noisy at times, either from hallway or if you are on 4th floor, from the breakfast staff the floor above. Overall a fantastic boutique hotel in a really cool and convenient part of the Old Town. Feels like a slight escape from the touristy areas.

Room Tip: 4th floor room with balcony was fantastic (but slightly noisy due to breakfast staff above around 6...

From the moment we appeared we were taken good care of - at the airport!
Met by the staff, a light meal/snack in the reception and they did everything they could to please us whenever we were there! And always with a smile...
The hotel is clean, the beds are very good and the food - breakfast-buffet was suitable for anyone, especially the fresh pressed orange juice served to everyone as we were seated on the terrace.
It is a good idea to reserve a room in advance so you can get the room with the terrace on the 4th floor.
We recommend this hotel, 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, to anyone who asks us about our experiences in Turkey. Thank you so much for taking care of us Sept.14th - 19th 2013.

Tesekkür ederim!

Room Tip: They have one room with a very nice terrace, with plenty of space to invite friends in for a drink b...

Lovely little hotel in the Sultan Ahmet district.
You'll be 10min away from the Blue Mosque, Aga Sofia & the tramway, around 20min from Topkapi palace or from the Big Bazar.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is personalized and reactive, people are very smiley and make you feel at vacation as soon as you step into the hotel. Breakfast is varied, clean and local, perfect to start a good energetic day. Snacks and drinks are also offered by the hotel at the reception in the afternoon and at night. Also great after a nice evening to have a last drink at the terrace with a nice view on the old mosque.
You can also ask reception for a turkish hammam, they can advise where to go.

Definitely go if you're looking for something cozy and personalized ! I really enjoyed it !

Room Tip: there is no elevator, so ask for the right floor, depending on your age / degree of fitness or alcoh...

My wife and I were in this hotel from August 27, 2013 to September 2, 2013. We stayed in a Superior Double room at the back of the hotel. There was not much to see of the surrounding from the room. The room is quite spacious, averagely decorated although can do with some form of renovations. The smell of the room and the beddings were rather stale. The room needs some air fresher and/or some new beddings. The bathroom is ok. Very spacious and clean. The staff go all the way to please guests. If you love to eat and drink tea, wine etc at any time of the day without paying a dime, this is the hotel to stay. We were not pressurized to choose tours. We picked and they made it happen. They were also helpful in telling you where to eat and they were spot on. The hotel is closed to all tourist points and the tram station.
The breakfast, though good, was limited. The only hot things you get are your coffee or tea and scrambled or poached eggs. I particularly dislike the fact that the eggs were made at the basement of the hotel and had to be transported without any cover to the 4th floor terrace where breakfast is served. This calls for great concern. The views on the terrace during breakfast is breathtaking and awesome. If you have bad legs, back and any serious health condition, you can order breakfast to your room at no extra cost but my wife and I preferred to climb to the terrace for breakfast through our stay.
All in all, Best Point Hotel is a good place to stay and will recommend the place for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: We were taken to the new suites round the corner from the hotel. We like the decor and the ambience...

As usual, got to this hotel via Tripadvisor and wasn't disappointed at all! I found it really well located and it's service was really above expectations. Everyone at the hotel: bellboys, kitchen staff, front desk and even the pick up service at the airport, were extremely kind and efficient.

The hotel's location is quite good, since you're just blocks away from two of the greatest and most important must-do's in Istambul: The Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. At the same time, minutes away from the main streets and the Palace, which is just behind the magnificent church, mosque and museum. If you want to walk towards the port, it's also quite near.

The hotel's rooms vary in size and style, but all the rooms are good and have enough to suit the regular travelers' needs. Nothing too fancy though, but believe me... you need nothing more to have a great experience in this magnificent city. Since we stayed there a couple of times (before and after Cappadoccia) during a week long trip to Turkey, we had the chance of staying in two different rooms, and our friends were also there, so we had the opportunity of seeing most the boutique hotel's rooms. If you prefer a bigger room, I'd recommend you to pay a little more for a superior room and would recommend you the ones on the third floor in the back. Don't forget the hotel doesn't have elevators, so possibly it'd be better to ask for a lower ground room if you have issues walking up and down the stairs.

Breakfast: just wonderful and the roof top restaurant gives you magnificent views of the above mentioned landmarks and the port as well. It's literally breathtaking and the abundance of the food served is quite something too. It's got all kinds of sweet goodies from Turkey, plus the standard western food (eggs, bread, cheese, etc), all sorts of tea and coffee, plus fruits and the regular fresh juices. Make sure you go on a strict diet before going to the Turkish experience... hehehe, you'll need it!

Finally, the extra stuff: free tea and sweet things in the reception, free wine or beer late afternoon and the best apple tea you can try! Those are simply nice additional things that help you fall in love with the place even more!

Try it out... it won't disappoint you. (the little flaws are not even noticeable)

Room Tip: I'd recommend you to pay a little more for a superior room and would recommend you the ones on t...
