Gezi Hotel Bosphorus
Ranked #127 of 1,163 Hotels in Istanbul
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We stayed at the Gezi Hotel for 3 nights after Christmas and enjoyed this boutique hotel.

Plus Points -: Location with walking distance to Taksim Square, Istitkal Street and Metro; Fantastic Views of the Bosphorus; Cleanliness and Good Service.

Negative Points -: Taksim Square is a traffic mess and generally it is difficult to get taxis in the area as the square is undergoing renovation hence a private car will be an advantage; Rooms are small; Breakfast room can get busy and finding a table can be a problem; Noise from other rooms and from the street can become a problem as sound-proofing is weak.

Room Tip: Choose the Bosphorus Corner Rooms - Try and Upgrade to the new Sky Suites

Hotel Gezi Bosphorus, located at Taksim square, is one of the finest hotels for a short business or pleasure stay in Istanbul. Located at Taksim square, the location is just perfect, a stone's throw from Istikalal street which is the primary shopping and party district of Istanbul, and hence very convenient. Many tourist destinations, like the Dolmabache Palace, Museum of Innocence, Galata Tower and bridge, and Golden Horn are walking distance from the Hotel. The Hotel also has a great restaurant and in-house spa. Though the menu is restricted and gets repetitive after 3-4 days but they make it up with their great service.

The rooms are neat and clean. The electricals are way too advance and might take a day or two to figure out. In general the rooms have a very modern feel to them.

However, what makes your stay at Gezi even most pleasurable is their service quality. The staff is simply amazing. They have all the information you would need and are always keen to help you with your reservations for sightseeing tours and dinners at no extra cost and very competitive prices. For me that was the highlight of my stay at Gezi.

I would recommend Hotel Gezi to any Istanbul visitor and will definitely stay there again whenever I visit Istanbul.

I'm travelling to Istanbul twice a month and this hotel is noe of my preferred for many reasons.
It is clean, the view is either to the Bosphorus or to the Taxim Square' Garden and in both case you can enjoy a silent and comfortable night.
In the morning the brakfast is huge and properly presented.
Wi-fi connectio is perfect.
If yo like, you can book a relais session in the basement (chargeable).
Only one critic: sometime the electric system is shut down during the night....

My wife and I spent a few days in Istanbul. We stayed at the Gezi Bosphorus Hotel. The biggest advantage this hotel has is that it is just off Taksim Square. The hotel avoids the hustle and bustle of the square, but is sufficiently close for you to participate in its festivities.
We had a garden facing room. The rooms are a tad small, but are very comfortable. It has some very nice touches, which include adequate storage space in the cupboards and a very nice ledge across a large French Window that permits you to sit and enjoy the views outside, while having a cup of tea. However, I would have liked a kettle and some tea in the room.
While the TV has a lot of channels, there is a paucity of English Channels. Surprisingly, BBC and CNN were prominent in their absence
The breakfast spread was more than adequate. While, we as vegetarians, would have loved to see more of that on the menu, we could not quibble at all with the quality of the food
Where the hotel really scores is in its staff. They are extremely, cheerful, very friendly and are willing to go the extra mile to help you and guide you.
We used the spa too. It was extremely clean, with a lovely atmosphere about it. The masseuses were professional and qualified.
I would heartily recommend staying here, when in Istanbul
