The Republic Monument was built in Taksim Square in 1928, to symbolise the newly created republic.
The marble/stone structure with bronze statues was designed by an Italian sculptor. Ataturk, as expected is the centerpiece of this monument. A lot of locals pose for photographs in front of the monument.

This statue is in the middle of Taksim square.
If you happen to be there you will see it, so it is part of the "package"

This monument is a famous photo spot of Taksim Square. Whenever I visit Istanbul, I come this square and take some pictures here. There are many people wandering around this monument. The statue of Ataturk is seen on one side of the monument.
