“a good hotel with the standards of Asia!!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

it is located in a very nice place.the staff are friendly too.the restaurant in 17 level is very reasonable (although they work very slowly and should wait for any food a long time!).
all foods seem very fresh.the breakfast is very good, but it isnn't like the 4 star hotel in Europa and US.

Room Tip: i was in 3 different rooms.they are the same the view is very nice!

The hotel might spectacular from outside by it isn't a same four star hotel one would hope for
The hotel location is good to start of with. Nice decent views as well. Tv is boring with just few Russian and uzbek channels. Staff is major disappointment unhelpful and rude sometimes
No water provided in room. Not much facilities .
Wifi is pathetic and only works in lobby with limited speed.but in room its horrible
Breakfast menu wasn't to my liking either .on a whole just a average stay

The story started already with our booking via email- I was planning to come with my partner and we were told :"as you are not married you will have to book a single room for 55$ (that you are not going to use) and a double room for 80$ (where both of you are good to stay) just for registration" u consulted my Uzbek friend and they told me that there is NO law obliging foreign citizens to stay in different rooms without marriage certificate! This law applies only if

In the lobby all looks well, even grand. However it changes once you get to you room. Bedside lights that didn't have light bulbs, air conditioning without controls or off switches, broken window with hole - on 13th floor! Grubby bathroom and threadbare towels. Once this must have been a grand hotel but those days are long gone.
The staff are very variable , in the top floor restaurant the staff were lovely and really helpful, the porters were also polite and helpful, but front desk staff were abrupt and the reception At the downstairs buffet was just rude. The location is central but there are no restaurants near by.
Breakfast however was good, self service but plenty choice and quantity.
I stayed here as part of a group but the advertised rates of 100 dollars a night for a single room were laughable.

We were a bit apprehensive of this former soviet hotel, but they did a very good job refurbishing it. The rooms are very large and the beds very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the walk-in shower. The view from our 16th-floor room was quite impressive, even if it was at the rear of the hotel.
Breakfast was average, nothing more.
Service at reception, on the other hand, was appalling. We were getting used to a complete lack of friendliness from all serving staff everywhere (with one or two exceptions), but this hotel beat them all. I wanted to change dollars to sum one last time. A sign at reception was showing an exchange rate in line with the official rate, so I decided to change 50$ with the expectation that this was an official bureau de change which would give me a receipt. When they didn't, I complained, and their answer was that if I wanted a better rate, I could take the risk to change on the black market outside. Walking then back to the elevator, I discovered the real bureau de change tucked away in a corner left of the elevators, in the very reception hall! Back at the reception, the only reply I got was a shrug, no apology, no explanation why they didn't direct me to the bureau de change.
If you want a very good black market rate, talk to the bellboy at the entrance.

Very well located, this huge hotel provides a good breakfast and a nice restaurant on the top. Rooms are spacious and still in well state. The service is rough in the reception, like in the old soviet times, but that happens in other places in Uzbekistan as well.

Room Tip: Better in the top. See if the curtains work, or you'll be asleep very early.
