Stayed here twice in 2012 on business, once in March for two weeks and again in May for another two weeks.

Built in 2008, the hotel still has that new feel about it. I booked ahead and got a really good rate, well as good as i think you could possibly get here. The rooms i stayed in were perfect, nice floor to ceiling windows and great views over the mountains. The sliding door in the bathroom meant that i could have an amazing view of the snow capped mountains as i showered every morning. The bed was just right, not too hard or soft with nice comfy pillows and duvet. The room also had a nice desk situated by the window, so working from the hotel room was a preferred option for me.

The hotel is big, and as such it seemed to be empty most of the time (perhaps it was...), anyway, i liked the open spaces, wide corridors, and large windows. The spa and gym are one of the high points of the hotel, the pool is a bonus, but i rarely used it.

Breakfast was very good, but, please hyatt, invest in a cheese slice! I ate several times in the bar in the evening when i could not be bothered to go out. The guys in the bar are excellent as were all of the the staff who were extremely polite and welcoming, they always did everything they could to help me.

Two other items:

1) Location, its a bit out of the way if you like eating and drinking around the opera, so my tip is this - outside on the main road local taxis rumble up and down all day and night. If you want to get to the opera hop in a number 8 which will take you directly to the opera via Somoni and Rudaki, total cost 3 som! You will of course have to share on the way, but this can be fun.
2) Do not hire a car from the hotel, its very expensive and better deals can be found elsewhere.

I am heading back to Dushanbe soon, but may try the Serena to just to compare (plus i have a serena discount card) and for a little variety.

Stayed at the hotel for more than a week and it was a very nice experience: extensive breakfast buffet, nice spa/wellness area and very clean. The room was large, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was well designed and big. Quality style hotel up to standards...

Stayed for a week in November. the Hotel is clean and relatively well maintained. Room was nice and spacious. Bathroom as well. However the service was not up to the task. Lost laundry, forgotten breakfast, they blocked the room-card a day to early, visa registration problems, no room service etc etc.But independent of that a fine hotel at a very overrated price.

Room Tip: one with a nice view of the president palace

Despite keen staff, this hotel felt cold and empty. Tepid showers and poor food service compounded the problems. To be fair, management listened to our concerns and seems keen to improve but at the room rate charged, there are major gaps to fill. The gym, however, is great.

This is a 5 star hotel, well-maintained business oriented hotel. Good price for value, Breakfast and food is good. They need to add more national dishes / bread to their menu. They also shall become more guest friendly. Guests aren't allowed after the evening.
