It was pouring when we landed in Colombo at 1 am so it took us an hour to find Casa Colombo though we crossed it four times! It seemed like an off start to our honeymoon but then the Casa Colombo magic began..
Arrun, our domo was the sweetest ever.. He went out to the nearest place in the rain to get us some food! And helped us with everything.. from where to go to spa bookings.. to getting us breakfast at 5 am!!
The hotel is out of this world with the waterfall showers, amazing bathtub (which they decorated as a surprise with flowers), MAcbook in the room, awesome home theatre, brilliant bed and spaciousness.. just as it looks in the pictures..

The breakfast is one of the best Ive had and the foot spa is to be recommended..

A few issues :
1. The complimentary dinner voucher from Tripadvisor did not work.. Arrun spoke to Zacky the manager too who said it had expired..
2. Some of the honeymoon benefits had to be asked for..

Even so, the ambience of the hotel has to be seen to be believed.. There is a two pronged fan.. funky sunbeds.. and even a psychedelic wall.. Its amazing how the modern and old blend in beautifully.. Would love to go again!

This hotel is in an old colonial building which was renovated 4 years ago. They have only 11 rooms and all of them are suites and all of them are different. I really liked the hotel since it gives a mix of colonial and very modern. The service is really reallly good. The food is nice and I enjoyed breakfast and having dinner in the hotel. There is a small pool, but that is more to cool off than to swim since it is not very big. There is free and fast internet in the hotel. They also just opened a nice spa in the building. I would go back any time!!

The hotel is a fantastic base for exploring Colombo with previous reviews being spot on about the location, decor and feel of the place. Lots of pros including the personal service, and the fact that breakfast was organised for us for 6:30 on the morning of our departure.

However.., what marred our stay was the unacceptable racket generated by a group of guests from India in their teenage/early 20s. Apart from loud voices, laughter and screaming we were treated to a wall shaking door slam every few minutes from 4 am onwards, leaving no chance of getting back any sleep.

The staff assured us we wouldn’t have any further problems, only for the same to happen on our second and last night. I had to go out onto the landing twice during the early hours to ask for quiet and to remind them they were not the only guests – at the time i felt feel this was a management function to do and should have not been left to other guests to have to deal with.

We mentioned the problem again when checking out and the staff explained they had also spoken to the guests in the night and been ignored. I had the chance to speak to a senior manager on the phone who apologised profusely which was sincere enough but rather empty having just parted with almost £250 to a hotel where sleeping was impossible. Arrun, our domo, was an excellent ambassador for customer service and the hotel and despite his best efforts was ignored by these guests as they saw him as lower than them, which i find deplorable.

The hotel is and ought to remain a haven in the centre of a great city, to see that being ruined by the types of spoilt rich kids who we encountered on our stay would truly be a great shame.

The Yes recommendation is on the basis that our stay should have been more enjoyable - i believe the staff when they say this was an exception.

An outstanding hotel with excellent personalized service, Casa Colombo proved to be one of our favorite stops on our two week trip. A great location close in the city but tucked away to create a private oasis. An incredible renovation that has updated an old mansion to a hip, contemporary hotel while preserving much of the original look and feel, the property lends itself to wandering through the corridors and grounds and taking in the numerous small touches, from the enormous ceiling fan in the dining room to the waterfall hand sink in the pool bathroom. Our major domo Arun was friendly, energetic and charming and attended to our every whim. The suites are enormous, comfortable, well appointed and super cool. Our breakfast and lunch were among the very best meals that we ate in Sri Lanka. Very highly recommended.

Casa Colombo is a wonderfully quirky and chic boutique hotel in Colombo. Our suite was gorgeous and complete with everything we needed/wanted, including a laptop. Service is top-notch. We were well cared for by Ar(r)un (thank you!). The pool is pink and its setting is lush. Restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch on the veranda which overlooks a courtyard with pool, fountain and "floating" lounge. What a treat!

Lovely hotel, had a great stay. It was our honeymoon the bed was done so romantically. I really cherish the domo service…we really had some great, memories. The pink pool was so romantic; the domo arranged a lovely dinner for us on our last night with candle light and all at the pool side. The food was Si Lankan but was really great and tasty. We needed a change and it was the best combination after having a lot of western food. The airport transfer in the luxury vintage car was unforgettable; they even gave us a bottle of Champaign. What away to say Good Buy to this lovely country and the lovely hospitality that we got from Sri Lanka. All in all we would recommend this hotel and service to every one.

After my 5th stay at Casa Colombo it was about time that I am writing a long over due review...

Casa Colombo is everything what a hotel should be, comfortable, friendly, interior that is not bland but that is actually inspiring and which is very now without being cold and to trendy. The suites are whimsical and comfortable and the beds are out of the world (think Ritz-Carlton comfortable)

But what makes this hotel is the service. This must be the first hotel I know in Colombo where you do not hear NO (and trust me NO is very common in hotels in Colombo). Even when you arrive at 4 am in the morning which happens with me quite often no request is to much even at that time. Literally you want something they will arrange it no questions asked it is considered done an that is not only for the frond of house staff but all the staff have the same service standards. In addition, everything is done with smile and from the heart...

The food is great too and the outlets are everything else than boring. Breakfast is great and is served anywhere you want in the hotel and at anytime which is a great plus.

What I said before staying in Casa Colombo is like visiting your favorite uncle...
