Colombo and this hotel was our first stop of our tour of Sri Lanka and it did not disappoint. The building is of Moorish design with beautiful original floors and ceilings. Our room was massive with a separate seating room and huge bathroom. The bathroom was fab looking, but a tad dark to do your makeup in! But with a computer, Ipod dock and a great tub bath in the bedroom I wasn't complaining! Arron who was our Casa Domo was very helpful and friendly showing us around and explaining things to us about the hotel and local area. The restaurant has a fresco painting on one side of the wall which really made the place feel different from anywhere else. The food was very good value, but a bit laking in the quality we had else where on our trip.
The area the hotel is in is away from the main hub of the city so if you want to visit the main sites you need to arrange to get a taxi. But there are shops and few things like a coffee shop not too far away on foot. This is a great hotel and would really recommend it, as it is small and beautiful.
