“Good Stay at Global Towers!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We stayed at this hotel in last year November. The hotel is located lil away from the main hot spots of the city, so we finished our shopping and dinner and then reached this hotel by 9 or 10 in the night. We were travelling with our extended family so the rooms (i guess on the 6th floor..cant remember particularly) that we got were part of three bedroom service apartment layout. This worked great for us, as we freshened up and then sat together in the living room to have a good chat.

Rooms were neither too big nor too small but were very good and well maintained. Our bedroom did not have a balcony, but our bed side window had the view of the Indian Ocean and the Marine Drive which was awesome! The loo was clean, with toiletries, and had hot water supply at all times.

As this was the last halt of our journey, none of us were in the mood to sleep so four of us took a stroll and checked out the hotel's pool side, clicked some pictures and ended up at the restaurant. The restaurant is open 24*7, and we went there and had some great coffee at 1:30 am. :)

We had an overnight stay there, so in the morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There was a live dosa counter, omelette counter, etc. They also had yummm milk cakes and fruit cakes, which was an awesome start to my day.

Our stay here was the last leg of our Sri Lankan Journey so it was great that it ended at a positive note. Location wise it is lil far from the shopping places, but tuk-tuks are always available to take you wherever you want. I think for short stay I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed in this hotel in January for the first time and loved the location. Hotel is located at Marine drive facing sea with beautiful view. The breakfast is really good and you have some good choice to choose from. The staff are generally very helpful and can guide you on where to go and what to see around. Rooms are nice and clean but as I stayed in single room, I found it was bit small and not enough space to move around. Bathroom amenities are also good and I liked it. Cost wise not that cheap but still much better than many other hotels with similar facilities. There is a good bar as well and a nice spa, if you are looking for some relaxed time. The rooftop is fantastic and you can have nice view of sea and city areas from there. Normally, they organize parties at the rooftop but I would love this place if they have open bar and restaurant as well.

Room Tip: Higher level facing sea

my experience was very bad with the holet. i did the booking via booking.com and reached hotel on 30th night. although we were served with the welcome drink but it was very pungent in taste. we were two ppl and were refused to get two room keys which surprised me. when we entered the room it was like a cellar. very small n congested. after two single beds there was not enough space to move in the room. in morning we request for a change in room which was obliged by the front desk people but that room didnt had a window which opens iout. the window opened in the gallery which was like living in a room with no privecy. the room service was very poor n lethargic. the quality of food was just ok. not very good. the newspaper was delivered when it was called for.
the most disgusting thing was the just besides my room there was an apartment or the kitchen from where the whole night the smell of cooking food was there and after every 15 to 20 minutes the ding dong of a door bell was there. we both couldnt slept the whole night. the tea n coffee maker was also given when asked for and no specific place for it too in the room.
overall a bad experience with the hotel. it was published the the hotel has a sea beach in front. but the beach was not gud enough.

Room Tip: rooms were like a cellar

Global Towers we booked this hotel through a travel agent from India for 1 Night only. we booked two rooms., they gave One room with beach view.,which was very very small and another room without any view. Rooms are okay. Front Office staff are very good but housekeeping little rude,Buffet Breakfast was good. NO Free WIFI., They charge 2 dollars for 1 Hour.Hotel is located right in front of the beach. Nice location. Over all it was a good stay.

Room Tip: Ask for Beach view rooms

Very close to being true hotel hell. Not an hour goes by- day & night- without episodes of extreme noise. Upstairs neighbors can be heard nearly constantly dragging chairs, etc., against the linoleum floors. Endless doors slamming- without any padding to reduce the sound. Ugly & dirty white paint covering all the cheap walls. Crawling ants everywhere- especially the bathroom. It's actually a pleasant diversion from the hellish neighbor noise- to hear the steam locomotives rumbling accross the street every few minutes. When there's half a minute's peace between banging & slamming; there's a dynamic view of the Laccadive Sea.

The hotel is conveniently located near shopping complexes in Colombo, the gala dinner on new year eve was good fun.. the sevice though is lacking in providing basic necessities in room like electric kettle and tea/coffee set up. the lunch and dinner buffet was good though. the rooms are quite small. the pool is again small and not does not insist on guest wearing costumes, saw guests entering in any clothes they liked even with the pool person around.
