I stayed overnight here. Reached around midnight, quickly shown my room. The chef was extremely accommodating even at that late hour.

Friendly staff.

Breakfast buffet was amazing

Very small triangle kind room with poor service but with very good hotel location. Swimming pool is small. Good availability to local transport due to good location. Reception staff are polite. Spa is very simple.

Room Tip: Good location but small rooms

The good thing about this hotel is the location. The beach is right across the road. There is a train track which runs along the coast. So if you are in a beach facing room on the roadside, it is very likely that you would get to hear the sound of the passing trains often. If you dont really mind this sound, ask for a beach facing room. It is worth the view.

The room size is pretty small and amenities minimum for the rates they charge. There is a lot of unutilized space outside the room. Outside the room, there is a large area with just a sofa and a couple of chairs. This area is common for all the 3 rooms (A,B and C) on that wing / side but it really doesnt matter much unless you rent out all the 3 rooms. The rooms would have been much more spacious if only this common space had been included in the rooms.

The buffet breakfast was ordinary. Internet connection is charged extra at a high rate.

Room Tip: Beach facing rooms have a good view

Very expensive , small rooms and bad service ( except some of the room attendants ) . Some charges are like day robbery including laundry which is exactly the GBP amount I pay in UK which I didn't expect at all . Room keys don't work at times and pool was full of drunken tourist from India. No free wifi and had to pay $9 for few hours which is expensive that we get in emirates airline :) . I wont recommend unless you are so desperate

The Global Towers hotel stands by the sea and that is its only saving grace. Trains rumble by in front of it and can be a darn nuisance if you're not used to that kind of sound. For US$ 100+ per night (high because of the various hotel taxes that Sri Lanka has) the rooms are small and the toilets even smaller. There is no tea or coffee service in the rooms and except for towels and a laundry bag, you won't find much else in there. The hot water from the shower was hot enough to boil tea and they should seriously put a sign in there so that guests don't scald themselves. The breakfast buffet is varied but not extensive and the quality of the food just doesn't look fresh. I preferred to go to the small cafe next door (probably owned by the hotel) as the atmosphere was more friendlier. The reception offered me an early check-in and did not charge extra, which they apparently are notorious for. This is a functional hotel, don't expect spectacular results.

Room Tip: Look for rooms on higher up floors and away from the seafront, to avoid the noise from the street an...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights over a weekend. Friends also stayed there but we all had a double room each..which was a really good job we did as the rooms were really really really tiny.
The rooms were also a strange shape - kind of triangular.
The whole design of this hotel was bizarre - after you exit the lift on your given floor, you enter a large area of wasted space with just a sofa and a couple of chairs and console tables...off of this area are 3 rooms labelled A, B and C. The rooms inside are so tiny that you stub your feet on the fridge trying to walk between that and the bed...which is absolutely ridiculous when you consider how large an area of wasted space is immediately outside the rooms !! It would probably be better if you were a large group staying there.
This area would have been far better utilised if it had been incorporated into the bedrooms to make them a decent size...especially when they cost $104 per night !!
Inside the room was a bed and a fridge, and a unit with TV - the tv was too big for such a small room.
There was a balcony to the room, but the doors were locked and I could not go out on it. This made the room very stuffy (and smelt of the previous occupants smoking) despite the aircon which was not easy to operate.
The en suite was clean but also minute, with a very small shower area......the towels were grotty... ie: grey from age and dirty looking ...way past their best...a bit like some of the paintwork when looked at closely (especially in the restaurant).
On a positive note the bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very clean and crisp.
The room boy was very good and cleaned the place thoroughly, made sure I had enough coffee, tea and bottled water in the room, and gave me a complimentary newspaper on both days. He was very polite and really wanted to make sure my room was the best he could make it. He even offered to go and get me some medicine when I mentioned I wasn't feeling too well on one of the days...which I thought was very sweet and very kind.
The staff on reception were very polite and helpful too, and made a lot of effort to greet with a smile and friendly chat. They were also very helpful when I asked questions, even making efforts to look up details for me about some things, which was going that extra mile.

The hotel restaurant ...hmmmm !
My friend and I got there late at night and were served by the most dimwitted and thick member of staff I have met in any establishment. They were not good when it came to food allergies.
After a while I gave up and ordered a cheeseburger...which hen it came had mouldy sliced onion in it - needless to say I did not eat it!
I also noticed that the breakfast buffet, including chilled food, and some hot food, was already out on display by 0200 hours..which is not at all hygienic - hence I also gave breakfast a miss.

This hotel also lacks any leisure facilities like pool etc. In my view it is very overpriced, even for a city centre hotel.
However it is in a great location across the road from the beach and a short walk from all the shopping centres.

So a tale of double standards....room boy and reception plus location extemely good - but room size/layout, hotel facilities and restaurant extremely grim !

Room Tip: Inspect your food before you eat it ! Check that you can open balcony door before accepting room

We stayed at this property in July 2012.We were a group of 8 and had the whole apartment to ourselves.three individual rooms with a common living room and kitchen.I didnt understand the logic of having a electric heater and oven when no cooking vessels were supplied.hot water with coffe and tea powder in ample supply. The view is amazing.Resturant food is reasonably ok and decently priced. The welcome drink was awesome.Staff are courteous.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea facing view.
