We stayed here for only 6 hours as it was a quick overnight stop between landing in Colombo & heading onto the Train to Kandy & Ella.
Great location, right next to the Colombo Fort Train Station in the city.
For the price, it's great value, very basic room, good bed & bathroom.
Air con & concrete, so rooms were cooled (which is a must in Sri Lanka!)
Service was good & friendly, they picked us up from the airport which made things easier, but I recommend looking at Uber if you have it (it's a bit cheaper)
Free Wifi which worked, and overall good value for money for location.

we stayed 2 nights in this hotel. the staff is nice but it is very noisy. be prepared to hear doors slamming in the hallways all night and the nearby traffic early in the morning. don’t forget your earplugs. the room is clean and ok. it’s a guesthouse, not a hotel.

Dear 946oliviern,

We apologize for the noise. Since we have a 24hr desk, we have arrivals throughout the day and night.

We are indeed a guesthouse; you probably missed out at the Hilton and Shangri la which are "hotels", but thank you for the two stars...

Rgds

The main areas of the place we very basic, and I feared the worst. We were taken up an outside staircase to our room, which was large and clean, basic but comfortable. The only problem with the room is that is has a sliding bathroom door that does not close properly and a large step up to the bathroom, so use a light on in the night! There was a kettle in the room which is good. However they charge you double the price for bottled water so buy it outside and bring it in! It is convenient though, if you can't get to a supermarket to have a drinks fridge in the kitchen area. Breakfast was great, cheap and basic, all you need, toaster for you to use, tea, egg, yogurt and fruit.
The location was great, close to station, Galle Face Green and restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly and arranged an easy good transfer to airport.
There was no wifi when we were there only in lobby, which was really annoying and it was very slow. Worst wifi in the whole of Sri Lanka!
This place has a real hostel feel, if you want luxury, pay more!

Room tip: We ordered a large room with queensize bed, but were told all the rooms are the same so don't pay extra for a larger room!

The transfert from the airport was super organised. No stress and we didn’t wait too long. We landed pretty late and there were no supermarket around the hotel at this time so be prepared for that. You have a bottle of water for 1$ at the hotel.
The room was big and clean. We stayed at the third floor. We were not really bothered by the noise of the traffic but by the doors slamming in the hallway early in the morning. (If you really need to sleep it’s not the best place)
It’s 1$ for the breakfast.( 2 toasts, egg, yogurt, hot beverage, bananas) It’s a small breakfast but 1$.
The staff were friendly and they recommand you things to do if you have questions.
The hotel is near the train station so it’s convenient.

Dear Peachgirl1217,

Thank you for the kind word! We apologize for the door slamming. Some of the guest leave really early to catch the trains ect.

We do advise every guest to observe discretion and to keep all noise levels to a minimum.

Safe Travels!

As we pulled into the garage at the back of the building in our arranged airport pick up ($25) I feared the worst. The back alley is a bit of a slum and our driver had to slowly drive across a plank to get over a ditch.

However we were then shown up to the main building, bags being carried for us. The hotel is very very basic but this is shown in the price. We are then shown the drinks fridge in the lobby which had really good prices! It was around $1 per drink.

We got to our room, we had room 15. It was really nice. It was modern and clean the bed was comfortable as well. My only complaint about the room was the door was a bit hard to close, you really had to slam it to lock it properly.

In the morning we had breakfast for $1 it consisted of a yoghurt, toast, bananas and a boiled egg. I feel for $1 it was totally worth it and filled us up for the day ahead.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a cheap stay while they explore the city as it’s amazing value for money and a great location. However if you want more luxury I would spend more money!
