It should come as no surprise that the Indian restaurant in the Taj Samudra would be good, but Navratna is even better than expected... and the fact that most of the other tables seemed to be Indian clientele is testament to that. The atmosphere is pleasant, with tasteful live sitar-and-tabla, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. But the food... oh the food... it is amazing. One of the best Indian meals I've ever had. And while I'm not Indian, I lived there for many years, so I know my muttar paneer from my dal makni. The dishes span both northern- and southern- Indian cuisines, with a nice mix of well-known and more obscure choices. The next day, my wife and I were already making plans for our next meal there.
