You will like the architecture of the hotel, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. What really impressed me though was the quality of the food in the hotel restaurant. I had for 3 nights in a row (I was there for business, so not really keen on going out much!) dinner there. Sri-Lankan curry was excellent. Staff very friendly too.

Have just had our fourth stay at this wonderful place. Always comfortable with an excellent & obliging staff. The food is of the highest standard & the service throughout is faultless. It is a perfect place to stay being so convenient to top class shops & very good restaurants. All these points make it easy to recommend.

We were there from Feb 12 to 15 to visit city and see Perahera. Tintagel is the place to be. Central yet quiet, especially car park side. Staff and food are amazing. Do not let the lack of bar deter you, there are many options so you can have cocktails and wine with dinner

A special thanks to the Manager, Niluka, with his super attention to detail to ensure our stay was perfect. Thank You.

We stayed one night here before departing from Sri Lanka, and it was superb. The building is beautifully restored with interesting art and interior design. The staff were excellent - polite, charming and very helpful. We had a wonderful dinner - one of the nicest meals we had during our holiday - and breakfast was excellent too. this hotel is a calm, sophisticated oasis in the city.

We only stayed one night here on our arrival in Colombo but it was a super stay. The room was so comfortable, we were in the West room, which had a lovely large balcony. The neighbourhood is very pleasant. The only slight problem was no mirror in the bedroom, but when I asked for one, a stand mirror was brought immediately. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. And the dinner we ate there was one of the best on our trip. To know that it was the Bandaranaike family home gave a sense of history, added to by the fact that Prince Charles alsorecentlystayed here. Would suggest anyone coming to Colombo should stay here.

This was the first stop on our Sri Lankan holiday and it was a wonderful choice. The fact that it had been the home of the Bandaranaike's until Mrs B died in 2005 gave it a great feeling of history. It was leased to Shanth Fernando by the family and is now a unique small hotel. In fact Prince Charles stayed here for a week last year.

Our bedroom had a large balcony and the room had a high ceiling with a fan or air-con which we used as it would have been very hot and sticky without. The bathroom was quite small with a rain shower but had all you needed in the way of toiletries . The colours were muted browns and beiges with red lacquer cupboards - all very stylish!

We had lunch and dinner outside in the garden which was very pretty with ivy covering the walls and candlelit at night - very romantic. The food was delicious and lots of choice either European or Sri Lankan. The service was very attentive and friendly.

There was a long thin pool in a courtyard at the back which just allowed 2 people to swim up and down but at least you could do proper lengths.

I would rather stay here than in a big modern hotel. We both loved the Colonial feel of Tintagel and it was rather like staying in a private house
but with all the mod cons of a hotel. Outside the hotel the road was obviously a smart residential part of Colombo with lovely old houses and surrounded by luscious grounds. We would definitely come back again on another visit.

We stopped for a day in this fabulous small hotel en route for a short tour of Sri Lanka. What a haven of tranquillity in a sea of motorised vehicles! Wonderful staff, wonderful service, wonderful food. Perfection.
